Hinter Haven Cottage
A place of solitude, beauty, and peacefulness—Hinter Haven Cottage is your perfect Door County getaway. This charming 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat is tucked at the end of a private drive, surrounded by a quiet woods. You’ll feel worlds away, yet be just minutes from Door County’s most beloved villages and attractions. Thoughtfully maintained and protected with Mosquito Squad services for your comfort.

At Hinter Haven Cottage, you can enjoy a peaceful morning coffee, read your favorite book, or simply enjoy the wildlife from the beautiful wrap-around screened in porch.
Outside, you can shoot hoops, play yard games, swing, BBQ on the grill, hang by the fire or explore the woods. In the evening, you will enjoy roasting marshmallows at the campfire pit. Bring your guitar and sing your favorite camp songs. If it’s cool, gather inside around the fireplace playing games or doing puzzles.

The main level of Hinter Haven Cottage has a living room with a fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, a master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a bathroom. Upstairs, there is a spacious family room, two bedrooms (one with twin & full beds and one with a queen sized bed), and a full bathroom with a washer and dryer. The family room has a sectional, flatscreen TV, DVD player and toy area. There is Wi-Fi internet and a wide selection of DVDs, books, and games.
Updates in 2020 include new carpet, linens, furniture, flatscreen TV, outdoor firepit, tree swings, and gas grill. You will want to come back to Hinter Haven Cottage again and again!

Any Old Road is a private drive maintained by the 5 owners. Quiet, relaxing and close to everything you need in Northern Door County.

There is plenty of downed branches in the woods. Feel free to pick them up and use them for firewood.

It has everything

The Hinterhaven exceeded our expectations. They had yard games, board games, DVDs, we'll waited kitchen.... Just every thing you could want. And In a very secluded setting.

Weekend getaway

Great stay for a long weekend. Loved the location- easy access to Peninsula State Park as well as downtown Sister Bay. Kitchen had everything we needed. Loved sitting on the screen porch!

Two family getaway

We stayed at the Hinter Haven with our two young children, brother and sister in law and nephew. The property was set back in a quiet area, with lots of room to play in the yard with games from their well supplied shed. We so appreciated the well stocked kitchen and the books and toys in the family room (if we go back, I will save the space and not pack our own 😊). My grandfather was Norwegian so the Ole and Lena joke books ans Lefse tools brought a big smile!

Wonderful property

The house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of glasses and dishes for the 6 of us. Lots of room for us to spread out. It would be nice to have 6 chairs at the upstairs table. That is where we played games because it was the only table with a light over. The beds were upgraded to a king in the 1st floor bedroom and a queen and single in the 3rd bedroom, which was nice. A negative was the road to get to the house - it is gravel with potholes.

Family fun

We were 6 adults and a toddler. This was a perfect location in a quiet beautiful wooded area just minutes from the beach and shops and restaurants. The house is clean and well stocked with comfy beds , games for indoors and out and plenty of space to hang out together. We had a great time reconnecting.

Gorgeous and Private Door County Home

This house was perfect for our family visit to see relatives in Door County. Communication with the host was easy and we received prompt responses to any questions. The location is perfect to get to see all the local must-see restaurants, shops, and parks. This charming home was filled with all the items you need to enjoy your stay. Annual Door County family vacation

This was our second stay at Hinterhaven and enjoyed our time here just as much as on our visit last year. Wendy and Paul are phenomenal hosts and very responsive. Their home is beautiful and the property is situated in a stunning setting. The kitchen was very well stocked and the house is very nicely decorated. We especially enjoyed the screen porch on nights when it was raining or a bit chilly.
