Although this is a large house that accommodates more people, my husband and I love to stay here, just the two of us. We read by the hearth in the evenings, and have our morning coffee on the covered porch.

We are the third generation of stewards to this property. My grandparents, Betty and Kilton, rented this property from the 1950s until the 1990s, then parents, Bob and Martha, rented it out until recently. Peter and I have made some important upgrades and it looks great! We have awesome recurring renters - three families raised their children coming to this location, and now the children have children of their own. Other past renters have bought the abutting cottage, and share our love for the hills of Sebago year-round.
We are excited to share the property as our forebears did. We know that you will love it!
This home provides a refreshing portal to a relaxed lifestyle. If you insist on modern, this is not for you! ... or maybe you need to experience the tranquil space and simple beauty that this home provides. The home abuts forested hillside with trails that lead to Douglas Mountain and Coyle, with expansive views west to Mount Washington, east over Sebago Lake, and north to the far horizon. A blueberry field is out the back door, for easy picking before you make your blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Sebago Lake, Hancock Pond, Saco River and Peabody Pond are each a short drive away, ready to launch your canoe or kayak. Antiquing in Cornish and exploring the other quaint towns of western Maine provide hours of fun.
この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由
This home has been in my family for three generations. My grandparents purchased it in the 1950's, and they, and then my parents, rented it for years. Previously, the Dykes owned the property from 1800 until the 1930s, and this home was built prior to 1927 as the annex to the Dyke Mountain Inn that was across the country road.
