An old but quaint home. We didn't spend a lot of time here because we had so much planned to go see and do in the surrounding areas. The time we did spend was very relaxing. A second bathroom would have been very helpful but we were able to make it work; at least a second mirror. A group of four ladies and one mirror inside one restroom was the biggest inconvenience we met with at this relaxing little 'nest in the trees.' The host was easy to get ahold of and we were well taken care of.

The property was nice, out of the way and quiet. A 15 to 20 minute drive to St Ignace. The property host was easy to get hold of and super helpful about sites to see. We were the first guests and it was an excellent experience. The only item I would tell the next guests is make sure you bring bug spray!!! The mosquitoes are absolutely terrible!!! If going to the island or even to shop buy a mosquito net to go over a cap or hat and covers your face!!

I would describe this property as much more as a cottage than house. It is in a good location, located on a major east west highway that provides easy access to various areas in the UP. The Les Cheneaux Islands area is one of the hidden gems of the UP. The cottage has a small kitchen with limited counterspace and a compact bathroom. There is a limited amount of bath towels and no washer and dryer. The house is located less than 150 feet from the highway so you will hear traffic noise, including occasional heavy truck traffic. The road in not heavily traveled, but often enough that I would not describe the location as “quiet”. The cottage sits across the road from Lake Huron but there is not any access and only limited views of the lake from the property. There are lake access locations in Hessel and then from Cedarville towards De Tour. If you are arriving on late Saturday or a Sunday, verify with the host as to what is available in the cottage, because St. Ignace or Sault Ste. Marie are the nearest places, we found, with grocery stores open on Sunday. There is also a Sunday farmers market in Hessel with a good assortment of items, as well as a nice farmers market near the intersection of I-75 and M-136.If you are looking for a convenient launching spot to explore the region, this cottage is a good choice.

First time visitors to this particular area in Michigan and loved it! The place itself is just off of the main highway that runs east-west & 10 min west is north-south I-75 so the road is busy daytime and quieter at night.A few items to note: Laundromat is 10 min. in Hessel & there is a Lg grocery store 15 min in Cedarville. Per previous reviewers there is no access to the Lake across from the property however the Bush Bay Trail is 17 min east from the property. This is a magical place to hike in & access water in Lake Huron. We brought our dog here almost daily to swim & to take in the remarkable views of Lake Huron. We also took advantage of the property location & made the 45 min trek North on I-75 to cross the International Bridge into Ontario, and visited the Soo Locks in Sault St Marie Mi. Driving south 20 min on I-75 is St Ignace, the incredible bridge to Makinaw City & the ferry access to Makinaw Island. The countless landmarks combined with the education of the maritime history in the area is well worth the visit. Please note: Bring your own shower soap, toilet paper & paper towels &remember to log out of your App accounts on the TV before leaving! It was a perfect trip all around!

Nice little cottage on the lake. So quiet. Big deck for sitting outside. Loved being away from it all and still so close to st ignace and Mac island. The perfect escape after a busy day. We cooked each night and the kitchen was great. The bedrooms were wonderful. Each bed was very comfortable and clean. Lots of pillows which i like! And nice storage shelves provided in each room. So easy for unpacking and organizing. And the water was hot in the shower!! Felt so nice. The hostess was so helpful. She called when she couldn't get in touch with me via text to make sure I had the info. And always responded quickly with my questions. Made me feel welcome.This cottage has everything you need and is clean and comfortable. I just need a place to relax with my family at night and this was perfect. And I enjoyed the Michigan decor. Learned about a lot of the ship wrecks... so we headed north to the ship wreck museum when we left!
