Enjoy staying at our Historic Farmhouse, surrounded by spectacular countryside and located about 20 Minutes to Okemo Mountain. The House can sleep up to 7 people in 4 bedrooms. With 2.5 bathrooms and several large common areas for gathering, it's a great place for families, and we do allow pets. This is a working farmhouse which continues to operate as a boarding farm for retired horses. If you enjoy the history and want to experience staying in an authentic farmhouse, this is the house for you. Situated on 170 acres of private land, the house dates back to the late 1700s. Lovingly cared for by the family that has owned it for four generations it is rich in detail and character. Upon entering the first floor through a mudroom, you will find the open kitchen with modern appliances and a sun filled sitting room with TV. Adjacent to this area is a formal dining room and then a large living area with windows that give views in every direction of the surrounding countryside. This floor also has a wonderful cozy library and a half bath.Up one flight of stairs you will find the 4 bedrooms. Two have King Beds, one has a Queen Bed and the fourth has a Double bed. Each room is filled with antiques and wonderful heirloom pieces. Also on this floor are two bathrooms. One smaller bathroom has a shower and the other larger bathroom offers a jacuzzi tub and shower. There is a laundry washer and dryer available for you to use during your stay. The home does have a generator in case of power outages and wifi capabilities. As it is still a working horse farm, you will likely see the horses on the property. The caretakers live in a small house adjacent to the main farm house. The horses will be visible grazing in the fields around the house or when being moved into the 2 barns. You will have total privacy in the main house which will only be occupied by you and your guests. While our town does a good job plowing and sanding roads, it is important you have a vehicle that handles well in winter conditions. The last mile or so to the house is on an unpaved road so 4 wheel drive is recommended so that you can safely reach the house in all weather conditions. The Main House on the Farm is only for you and your guests. There is a room on the second floor which will be locked as that is the owners suite to use when they stay on property. The owner will not be on property when it is being rented but the small house adjacent to the main house is where the caretakers for the farm and horses live year round. There is an exterior camera on the door guests use to enter and exit the main house. PLEASE NOTE: There are two wood burning stoves on the first floor of the house, but we ask guests not try to use these during their stay. The house has central heat for guests to use.
