Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations. The home was not as clean as we expected—floors appeared unswept, there were cobwebs in several areas, and we saw roly-polies and baby spiders.Although the listing stated self check-in and that the host would be out of town, the host’s wife was at the property when we arrived along with yard workers going in and out of the house while we were trying to get settled. On our last day, a man claiming to be the yard worker also entered through the garage with his own key, which was unexpected.Gary himself was very nice and did inform us about the Wi-Fi situation, but unfortunately his wife, Betty, made several snide remarks during our stay. After checkout she called accusing us of taking a green towel and two universal remotes and questioned the number of guests, even though she personally greeted all four of us on arrival. She stated she seen 4 adults exit the car, our reservation clearly stated three adults and one minor who was 17! Overall, better cleanliness, communication, and respect for guest privacy would greatly improve the experience.
