This charming cottage is located in grounds of a well established Mediterranean garden with olive and almond trees, which also provide shade and coolness during the summer months. Steps leading up to the pool with lighting for a perfect summer nights dip and patio with magnificent views across to the cliffs of Gibraltar and Africa. It is located on the 'Puerto de la Cruz' property on a slope in a forested valley of mountainous limestone only five minutes walk from the white village of Casares.
Casa Ceramica is within a short distance of the beach, Gibraltar and if you care to venture further for cultural interests Ronda, Jerez, Seville, Granada and Cadiz.

Amasing views, nice cottage

Spędziliśmy w Casa Ceramica 6 dni. Domek w rzeczywistości jest ładniejszy niż na zdjęciach, bardzo intymny. Jeśli tęsknisz do prywatności, przyrody i spokoju, to wymarzone miejsce na pobyt. Shirley jest bardzo gościnna. Powitała nas artykułami spożywczymi na kolację i śniadanie, owocami i winem. Kuchnia w domku jest dobrze wyposażona. W sypialniach materace mogłyby być wygodniejsze, ale można się przyzwyczaić. Basen mały, ale głęboki. Piękne widoki na góry i morze. Dom położony jest na stromym stoku, tuż poniżej drogi Estepona - Gaucin. Co jakiś czas słychać przejeżdżające samochody, ale nie przeszkadza to bardzo. Do Casares jest 5' na piechotę. Warto podejść do zamku i podziwiać widoki na góry i Gibraltar. Dobre miejsce wypadowe na wycieczki po okolicznych, andaluzyjskich miasteczkach.

Toplocatie met top host!

Wij verbleven ruim een week in het huis en hebben genoten van de gastvrijheid, het uitzicht, de rust, de prachtige tuin en alle voorzieningen. Bij aankomst had Shirley alvast boodschappen gedaan, fruit, kaas, brood, melk, ham, boter, koffie, wijn, eieren etc etc. We hoefden zo niet gelijk de supermarkt in te duiken, maar konden gelijk genieten. Verder was de keuken van alle mogelijke apparatuur voorzien. Het kleine huisje was niet verhuurd, dus hadden we het zwembad voor ons alleen. Het is niet groot, maar heerlijk om lekker af te koelen. Het dorp Casares ligt op loopafstand en je rijdt in 20 minuten naar het strand van San Luis de Sabinillas en de leuke strandtent Amaka Beach!

Schönes Haus am Rande des Weißen Dorfs Casares

Das größere der beiden Häuser ist alt, verwinkelt, gemütlich und hat eine schöne Gesamtatmosphäre. Einrichtung ist ok, allerdings merkt man, dass das Haus bessere Zeiten erlebt hat. Manches müsste einmal erneuert werden (z.B. die Sofas im Wohnbereich). Auch im Garten wird derzeit (2019) nur das Nötogste gemacht. Mitte Oktober ist das Pool-Wasser schon zu kalt. Aber draußen vor dem Haus mit herrlichem Blickt auf Berge und Meer zu frühstücken entschädigt für die Schwächen! Zu Fuß nach Casares ist kein Problem, dort gibt es auch Geschäfte. Ein großer Supermakrt (Lild) ist unten, an der A7. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen!

Relaxing and comfortable with great views

We had a lovely stay at Casa Cerimica. It was a very comfortable villa built on the side of a hill and had great views of soaring birds of prey. It isn’t too far from the coast and it is possible to visit many towns and cities from Casares if you are prepared to drive. Casares itself was a short walk and is on a hill so there are steps and slopes! The villa’s kitchen was well equipped, there was a lovely seating area and the pool was great for cooling off in. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. Thanks for a great holiday.

Lovely stay!

Shirley gave us a warm welcome and it was great to have fruit, milk etc waiting for us on arrival. Cottage has lots of character, great views and feels very much away from it all. Really clean, peaceful and quiet and haven't slept so well in ages. We were a little unlucky with the weather the first few days and the cottage was a bit nippy, so come prepared for all weather.

Wir haben schöne 10 Tage im Casa Ceramica verbracht. Über die Lebensmittel zum Frühstück und die Früchte haben wir uns sehr gefreut. Leider hatten wir nie die Gelegenheit, Sherley zu treffen.

Gemütilche und stilvolle Unterkunft in traumhafter Kulisse

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt im September. Das Haus ist warmherzig eingerichtet. Es gibt ein gut gefülltes Bücherregal mit Lesestoff in englischer und deutscher Sprache und ein paar Brettspiele. Unsere Kinder konnten im großzügigen und schön angelegten Garten auf Entdeckungstour gehen und zur Abkühlung im schönen Pool planschen.

Idyllisches Anwesen in den Hügeln von Casares

Wunderschönes Haus inmitten einem schönen Garten mit Sicht auf die Hügel und Berge, wo die Gänsegeier nisten. Vom Sitzplatz aus hat man den Blick frei zum Tal hinaus bis zur Küste. Der Pool ist herzig angelegt. Die Vermieterin war sehr nett, begrüsste uns herzlich und die Zutaten für das erste Morgenessen standen auf dem Küchentisch.

beautiful quiet cottage

Perfect place to stay while visiting southern Spain. We made this our home base and took day trips from there. Love the town of Casares lots of good restaurants and walking trails. Shirley was a wonderful host helping us when ever we had a questions, her terrace garden we stunning .

Truly idyllic

Very peaceful location and even though there are three houses on the plot one has total privacy. The garden itself is interesting, huge and beautiful!!! Shirley was a helpful host and very considerate. When there needed to be some repairs done she took great care that the timing suited us so we would not be disturbed. We also received a welcome-pack suited for our needs and allergies. Very very nice!!! The three-bedroom-house is on three levels and beautifully decorated. It is cosy, charming. One bedroom has two comfortable fullsize beds, the other big bedroom (with en-suite shower/WC) has one bed (approximately 140x180cm) where our son that is 196cm tall could sleep - and the small munk-like bedroom on the top landing has a shortish bed and no heating. Worked fine for our 182cm tall son. Two of the bedrooms never really get sunshine so they tended to be chilly and a bit damp. We rented for a winter month and during that time the nights outside are not unusually as cold as 6-7 degrees and the inside temperature about 15,5-16 degrees. As Swedes it took us some time to get adjusted to the indoor temperature. (We are spoiled with 20-22degrees in our homes) The days were often lovely! Felt like spring. My husband slept with a woolen hat on - so just be sure to bring warm clothes and you will have a lovely vacation in Spain even during winter. The bedding in the beds are splendid. We made good use of the fireplace and cooked most of our meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Shirleys place is very relaxing and peaceful!! Casares is a village with interesting history and marvelous views from the top ruin. So do not miss that experience!!! And Casares zip line across the ravine was scary fun! One buys tickets to and book the zip line-ride in Casares little museum. We had a wonderful vacation. I would love to come back!!!

We've discovered a little gem of a place!

What a find! We spent a week at Casa Ceramica in July 2017 - myself, husband and three sons (aged 7, 14 and 16). The cottage, although cosy, was roomy enough for all five of us (one double, one twin and one single room). We were able to eat in the kitchen (when it was too windy) or down on the terrace. Shirley was a fabulous host and was really helpful with things to do and see in the area and we loved hearing about her life in Spain. Shirley's garden is magical and I could have spent hours exploring it. The pool is on the small side but lovely and perfectly big enough to cool off in with a big enough area around it and sun beds for the whole family to lounge around. The cottage is well equipped and in good condition - there is washing machine and an orange squeezer so we had delicious fresh orange juice every morning for breakfast. The highlight, though, was sitting/dining/drinking on the terrace with the most fabulous view down a wild valley to the coast, over the Mediterranean and to Africa - honestly the best views I've ever had from a holiday house - and watching a family of Griffin Vultures (with binoculars thoughtfully provided with the house) nest on the cliff opposite was very special and had the boys fascinated! The location is ideal - the village can be got to on foot in less than ten minutes (a good choice of bars & restaurants, as well as a small supermarket & pharmacy), and one can also access many walking trails directly from the cottage. The coast is a short drive away for those who wish for a bit of an urban fix, and equally the beautiful Andalusian hinterland and the Pueblos Blancos are just a short drive away too. I would highly recommend this holiday let. It wouldn't be suitable for small children (too many drops and little winding paths). Being slightly elevated and away from the coast which means that in very hot weather this location is slightly cooler and you tend to get a good breeze coming up from the coast. A haven of peace and quiet but not too far from the action either.

peaceful, lovely cottage and beautiful gardens

A great place for a summer visit to relax and enjoy the small pool and watch to vultures gliding in the thermals. Walking distance of Casares and only 15 minutes to the coast. In the cooler months the walking looks good. The bathrooms are a little tired but functional. We had a very restful week and enjoyed lovely food in the casares restaurants

Urlaub im Naturparadies

Wir haben einen wundervollen Urlaub in diesem Naturparadies verbracht. Shirley hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen, Das Haus war gemütlich, toll gelegen, alles , was das Herz begehrte war vorhanden. Wir könnten stundenlang die über uns schwebenden Gänsegeier beobachten, ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Als Ausgangspunkt zu Besichtigungen war das Haus toll, nach den touristischen Tagen , konnten wir abends wieder in unser Stille fahren. Wir werden ganz bestimmt noch einmal wiederkommen. Wir bedanken uns, für dieses Kleinod.

Schönes Haus in den Bergen

Wir haben 12 Tage im Casa Ceramica verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist comfortabel und praktisch eingerichtet. Wir haben die Küche intensiv genutzt und uns gern abends auf die Terasse mit Blick in die Schlucht gesetzt. Der Pool ist sehr schön. Das gesamte Anwesen ist in einen herrlichen Garten eingebettet. Die Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir konnten vom Haus aus gut die Gegend erkunden und zum Meer sind es nur ca. 15 km. Wir können das Domicil wärmstens weiter empfehlen.

Very comfortable, superb location. Fantastic views

We were met by very pleasant owner who had left a very generous amount of food for us. Two adults and three pretty much grown up teenagers were very comfortable. Very clean, tasteful and new furnishings. A genuine ten minute walk to the very pretty town. twenty minute drive to beach and supermarkets. An hour to Malaga a bit more to the stunning town of Ronda. Best bit by far is the location perched on the edge of a hill we spent hours watching the vultures soar in front of us as they fed their chicks visible on on precarious nests.. Gardens are lovely. Our best Spanish villa so far.

Génial !

Appartement vraiment au dessus du lot ! Correspond en tout point à la description faite sauf qu'il faut y ajouter (en cette saison) : un calme olympien dans une propriété isolée du village (+/- 1km) et qui donne sur un petit vallon charmant (vue imprenable jusqu'à la mer - y compris le peñon de Gibraltar) au dessus duquel des rapaces planent (pas mal pour observer les oiseaux)... Très bien équipé. Shirley va jusqu'à laisser quelques produits de première nécessité à disposition et même un plus (panier de bienvenue)... Propre (y compris la piscine préparée pour notre arrivée). Cottage très personnalisé ! On voit que Shirley a du goût :-) Honnêtement je crois qu'il s'agit d'une des meilleures adresses louées en 10 ans d'expérience et tout ça à un prix très doux je trouve ! BRAVO ! A notre avis les seules choses à modifier dans le cottage sont un lave vaisselle (réelles économies d'eau) et un nouveau grille pain (l'actuel est un peu dangereux).

Lovely cottage with marvellous views

We spent one week at Casa Ceramica and it was a true delight. The cottage itself is very well equiped and we felt immediately at home. What makes this cottage such a gem, however, is its location. It's beautifully situated at a very steep slope of an Andalucian valley and has marvellous views towards the coast and, on a clear day, towards Morocco. The coast is only a 10 minutes drive away and the beautiful village of Casares - which has been able to maintain a lot of its authenticity - could be reached after a walk of 10 minutes. We enjoyed our coffee or sherry under the trees of its small plaza mayor. We'll certainly come back in 201

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus

Wir haben im Juni 2009 1 Woche unserer Andalusienreise in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht und es hat uns dort sehr gut gefallen. Die Begrüßung war sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr schön und ruhig. Die Zimmer sind sehr nett und romantisch eingerichtet. Einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Unseren 2 Kindern hat es dort auch sehr gut gefallen. Barbara M.

Erholung pur - super mit Hund!

Wir waren im Juli 2009 im Casa Casares und waren wirklich begeistert. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet, mit allen Dingen die man so braucht. Der Garten ist wunderschön, der Pool eine willkommene Erfrischung. Die Umgebung ist sehr ursprünglich - die weißen Dörfer, weite Weideflächen; das Meer ca. eine Viertelstunde mit dem Auto entfernt. Die Vermieterin ist sehr gastfreundlich, aber nicht aufdringlich. Auch unser Hund war ein gern gesehener Gast. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder!
