The health resort of Plau am See is divided into several districts and stretches for about 8 km along the western shore of Lake Plau, Germany’s seventh-largest lake. The old town is characterized by the half-timbered and brick houses of the farming townspeople. In addition to the drawbridge, the castle tower, and the castle museum, the 13th-century Protestant town church “St. Marien” and the Plau Town Hall, built in the Dutch Renaissance style, are outstanding historical landmarks worth visiting. Another highlight is the lighthouse, offering a panoramic view right at the junction of the Müritz-Elde waterway and Lake Plau.
The FH is located in the Quetzin district, which lies approximately 3.0 km north of the city center.
Distance to Lake Plau: about 70 m. The swimming area in front of Kohlinsel is right nearby.
