A Shore to Please Bungalow [Dog Friendly]

Summary:

Welcome to A Shore to Please bungalow. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Oak Island and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! OKI was recently named North Carolina’s best-kept secret by Travel + Leisure and was featured on HGTV’s “Battle on the Beach”. Our bungalow is nestled one block from the 20th street beach walkover, making for an easy 10-minute walk, or quick drive to the beach. Our home is a great space for family, friends, and your dog(s) to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of OKI.



The Space:

Our bungalow is a cozy, single story home with a screened-in front porch where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the island. Inside, you’ll find a tastefully decorated coastal vibe with all of the small details taken care of for you. You will be located one block from the 20th street beach walkover, making for an easy, 10-minute walk, or quick drive to the beach. If you choose to walk to the beach, you will need to cross E Oak Island Drive, which can get busy. You are also only a 5-minute drive away from shops and restaurants.



Our home is dog friendly (no cats or other animals, please) with a two dog maximum. Dogs will incur an additional fee of $100/dog. We have a dog weight limit of 80 pounds each. We have Coppertone towels that should be used for sandy paws.



We have a welcoming home to meet your vacation needs. In the living room, you will have access to an electric fireplace and a TV where you can log-into your subscriptions to keep up with your favorite shows. We also have different outdoor games for your use. Our open concept kitchen is well-equipped with dishware, cookware, and serving platters to make meals-in easy and convenient. We also have a Keurig and seating for six guests.



You will have access to three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Your beds will have fresh sheets and towels expertly packaged in preparation for your arrival. The backyard has lots of space for games or to relax by the fire pit. You, your family, and your dog(s) will enjoy a full fenced-in backyard.



For the beach, we have beach towels that you can use as long as they are returned and well-maintained.



Our cleaning fee includes the cleaning service that occurs after each guest departs and a linen service that prepares fresh linens for each stay.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the entire home minus an owner’s closet.



The Neighborhood:

Our bungalow is located in the “Tranquil Harbor” side of Oak Island. You will experience a beautiful, tree-lined neighborhood that is ideal for a leisurely stroll, bird-watching, or bike ride. We are located by the 20th street beach walkover, which is easily accessible by foot, and is approximately a 10-minute walk to the beach. You are only a 3-minute drive away from beach and a 5-minute drive away from clothing shops, restaurants, and grocery stores.



Getting Around:

Oak Island is very easy to navigate! Our bungalow is located in a quiet neighborhood. You will have access to a driveway with room for up to two vehicles. Please do not park on the grass.



There is paid parking throughout OKI April - September. We have found that our guests like to explore OKI by walking, biking, or by renting a golf cart. Please keep in mind that golf cart drivers and passengers must follow the rules of the road as cars and are not allowed on streets that have a speed limit of 35 MPH or greater.

We have left a manual with house rules inside, and to help make your stay extra special, we have curated notes from our experiences on OKI. Please read through it and let us know if you have any questions.



Be sure to stay up-to-date on the weather for your stay. We require all guests to leave our bungalow if the county declares a mandatory evacuation, such as for a hurricane. Also, please be aware of rip current conditions before swimming in the ocean. Our bungalow is located in a tropical environment.
