Our house is located in the center of Varel, right next to the pedestrian zone, so everything is within a few minutes’ walk. There’s also a bike shop nearby where you can rent bikes. The long-distance bike trails are well-marked. The famous spa town of Dangast is only 8 km away. Varel’s harbor with its great seafood restaurants, Germany’s largest windmill, and the water tower—all are worth seeing.
For children, the Jaderberg Zoo with its fantastic amusement park is always a hit. Jaderberg is 16 km away.
