Molalla River Cottage is bright, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated—an easy place to settle in and let the pace slow. Step through the front door into a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing simple, home-cooked meals. Just beyond, the open living room features hardwood floors and a gas-burning fireplace that brings warmth and calm to the space. A cozy sofa, comfortable chairs, and a daybed offer plenty of room to relax, nap, or enjoy a quiet evening indoors. Whether you’re reading, watching a movie, or listening to music, this is a space designed for ease and togetherness.



The cottage features a mostly single-level layout, suitable for guests with limited mobility, though there are a few steps to the front porch and a step down into the living room. Out back, the porch provides a soothing place to sit beside the creek on warm summer days or enjoy a relaxed evening meal on the gas grill.



One of the cottage’s most treasured features is the easy access to the Molalla River via a short, marked trail through meadow and pasture. While the final stretch becomes slightly steep, the reward is a serene river setting that feels delightfully removed from everyday noise and distraction. Nearby, a charming sitting area with a firepit offers an ideal place for quiet contemplation, stargazing, or simply taking in the natural surroundings.

The cottage offers peaceful seclusion while still being within easy reach of the Molalla River Corridor, the Hardy Creek trail system, and the Table Rock Wilderness Area. A scenic drive along the river reveals waterfalls and striking geological features. The historic town of Silverton is about 15 miles away, and the small rural town of Molalla—seven miles away—offers full services when needed. Whether your stay includes gentle outdoor exploration or complete stillness, this retreat provides the space to unwind and reconnect.

*Please note that there is another home on this property with a tenant that lives there full time.

The bathroom has a shower only (no tub)

*The river can have strong currents at different times of the year and caution is advised when swimming, fishing, rafting, etc. Renters are advised to check on local conditions and any necessary licenses for fishing, etc.

While guests cannot bring dogs, there are friendly dogs that live near this home. So if there is a pet allergy in your group, please keep that in mind

Great stay. The vibe of the neighbors was very sad. (Never saw them thankfully) Huge security gates and cameras. Gone are the days of being neighborly and welcoming to people. In my 50s and past the partying age. Feel bad for the rental people having to deal with this sense of entitlement in a country/foothill setting.

Perfect spot for exploring Molalla River Corridor

Very homey cottage in such a great location. There is a short trail here to the beautiful Molalla River. And the cottage is situated at the entrance to the Molalla River Recreation area which provides so many things to do along the Molalla River. The owners, who live next door, were very friendly and welcoming, along with their two super cute and friendly little dogs. A wonderful stay; we look forward to coming back again soon

Great little cabin

This was a sweet little escape not super far away from town. The only thing that I would suggest is asking that if you're visiting in colder months you request the heat be turned on prior to check in. It was freezing and took a few hours to heat up. Otherwise it was a great little place and most likely will visit there again.

Rural getaway

Comfortable, and we made good use of the full kitchen with plenty of room to work. Really cute place with cabin/cottage charm. Owner was friendly and there are two small dogs and a cat who were super chill and friendly. This location is outside of worst light pollution and has great stargazing. Outdoors, you will hear the nearby river and the local wildlife. A path leads down to a seating area and fire pit by the river, which is beautiful but you may want to bring your own camp chairs.

The area is beautiful. Marked trail down to the river. Nice bed. Stove, oven toaster, 2 coffee makers, bottle opener, good for wine also. No t.v. but dvd and vcr movies welcome. Washer, dryer, extra blankets . Bring your own charger and cords and plug in. Great area for relaxing and fun and getting away from the city. Farther away from the city then they estimate

A gem of a house

This property exceeded our expectations & we truly enjoyed our stay over the 4th of July weekend. The home was build in the 40s with excellent craftmanship. It had a very cozy feel that reminded me of visits with my grandparents years ago. We did see and speak with the owners who live in the larger house on the property. Very kind and friendly folks who were not at all imposing. They even offered great fishing tips and suggestions for easy river access. The on property access to the water level is a bit of a challenge. My partner did venture down, but I preferred to enjoy the river from just above the bank where a fire pit is available. We did drive just up the road less than 5 minutes away for easier water access. I appreciated that there was ice in the freezer when we arrived, and an amazing shower head. The bed is soft, but comfortable. We did not use them, but they have a fun VHS assortment which would work with the tv. Sadly, the property dogs are no longer around, but we enjoyed a daily chat with their cat who came by each day with loads to talk about. We also made use of the propane grill. Found everything clean inside & out.

Cute but dated

This was a cute house, directions left out a step so it was a little difficult to find. There were a lot of items in disrepair, kitchen faucet, warped pans, pans with coating peeling, odd smell. It was very hot while we were there, we were aware before hand that there was no a/c, but very few of the windows had screens so we were unable to open windows to cool off. There was excellent wifi so it seemed unfortunate that the tv was an old box tv only capable of vhs and dvd. The bed was very hard and we had an ant invasion in the bathroom the night before we left. The area was nice, close to what we were there for. River is beautiful but difficult to get to the water.

Lovely little cottage by the river

This is our second stay at this location. We really enjoy it. Make sure you bring slippers and sweaters and coats in the winter. It’s freezing and the baseboard heating in poor. Bring anything you may need. It’s bare bones. They have a coffee maker but you need to bring 100% of everything you need other than water and a cup. They have a TV that only works with DVD’s and the selection is awful. Nothing for children or youth. You don’t really feel like anyone is going to break In at any point. You are over 15 minutes from anything. (I needed creamer and it was a 15 minute drive to the quicky mart). the door is in need or repair. It latches poorly. There is some need of repair at this location. We will come back again for sure. I just would really appreciate some updates to things that don’t work.

The home is very cabinish super cute. The creek was super little but probably because it was the end of summer. Walking to the river was pleasant but hard to actually get to the river. The home was very clean and comfortable. Thanks for letting us stay.

Beautiful setting, nice cottage

Cottage was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The setting is peaceful and beautiful with the sound of the river in the background. A very friendly cat greeted us regularly as did a cute, friendly dog.

Deep relaxation

We had such a nourishing stay here and were so grateful for all of the personal touches including the delightful collection of DVD’s and VHS tapes which gave us options from a collection over the years. We haven’t slept that well in a long time. The spot served as a peaceful Ceremony space for my partner and myself to discuss wedding plans and find each other in a new reality including virus awareness. Wetiko. Cozy Cottage near a river

This Cottage was the perfect getaway for my wife's birthday. It was secluded enough that while the main property isn't too far looking from the place, it's plenty far enough feeling. The river access was a little confusing, since it has you go away from the river first and kinda stops being marked when you enter a field behind the Cottage, but with nowhere to go except through the field it's hard to miss the river. There was a really friendly outdoor cat who paid us a couple visits, which was fun for us as we are cat people. The only hitch we ran into was a lack of spatulas in the kitchen, and one of the baking sheets doesn't fit in the oven. Otherwise our stay was perfect.

Quaint Property In Beautiful Rural Setting

Clean, spacious one bedroom cottage along the Molalla River. Quiet wooded setting - ideal for a couple. We loved the fireplace and the picturesque setting. We appreciated the reliable Wi-Fi and found all amenities that we needed were provided. Hope to return again next year!

Relaxation plus cute pets

This was the perfect place to get away and relax. The short walk the river plus the excellent swimming hole was fantastic. The two pups that live there are super cute and sweet. We loved the visits with the kitty the most because we always miss our kitties when we travel. The kitchen is good and has all you really need but it’s sparse. Bring everything you would want for cooking or be prepared to improvise. The grill was great. The bed was super comfy with soft sheets and pillows. We slept so well! We can’t wait to come back.

Great cabin

Wish I could have stayed longer. It a quiet beautiful setting. I can sit at the table to eat dinner with the door open and hear the river. Only a fewthings would have made my stay better. Instructions on how to play the CD player. My son got it to work once but when I turned it off I couldn’t get it back on. I did not have a spatula turn over my eggs. The last thing is better instructions on the path to the river. If I hadn’t seen the owner and conversed over the fence I would have gone the wrong way.
