Issue with check-in: The day of check-in we had to fill out a fairly extensive form and put down a refundable deposit as part of a verification process which was not expected. After completing this it took awhile to be verified, so we did not receive the access code to the building or unit right away. The first person to arrive had to contact the host to get the verification pushed through. The building code we did receive also did not work, and we required assistance from the security guard, Don. Don was very welcoming and helpful.Location: The apartment was in the perfect location for the purpose of our stay- the Chicago marathon. However, it is located right next to a train which was VERY loud.Accommodation:Building- The building is historic and dated, which also means noisy. The area is extremely loud during all hours of the night and this noise translates to the unit.Unit: Inclusions were very minimal, with limited kitchenware and only a couple of towels (had to request more). There is very little decor and the furniture is basic which is fine for a rental but less than was expected for the price we paid. The bedroom that had windows was extremely noisy and bright (shades weren't effective) and the other two rooms have open-air cutouts near the ceiling to the living room, so little privacy or noise control. The unit was well located, clean and fine for a family, but overall was very barebones and loud.
