Woodland and Wildlife Walkout -close to Kansas City Stadium
Located less than 5 miles/8 km from Kansas City Stadium and just minutes from almost anything you might need. Around the corner from the neighborhood, you can get on the Rock Island Trail to walk or bike to the stadium or, in the other direction, to a park in Lee's Summit.
In a quiet neighborhood with a countryside feel, you'll have the entire bottom floor to yourself with hosts living upstairs and available for guidance and local tips.
THE SPACE
Welcome to our well-loved garden-level retreat. As this is the primary residence for one of our host couples, you’ll find it’s far more than a standard rental—it is a fully equipped, "true" home designed for comfort and relaxation.
When you book, we simply move to the upper level to give you exclusive use and total privacy of the entire walk-out floor.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
BEDROOM: Features two comfortable Queen-sized beds.
FLEXIBLE OPTIONS: A high-quality Queen-sized air mattress and a twin-sized mattress (NOT actually a futon and twin bed) are available and can be set up in either the "huge" bedroom or the living area.
GROUPS LARGER THAN 6: We may be able to accommodate extra guests! Please message us with your needs, and we’ll do our best to make it work.
BATHROOMS & AMENITIES
1.5 BATHS: A large full bathroom (walk-in shower, sink, toilet) plus a convenient half-bath (two sinks, toilet) located right off the bedroom.
KITCHEN: Because we live and cook here, the kitchen is fully stocked with real pots, pans, and dishes—perfect for those who enjoy preparing their own meals.
LAUNDRY: In-unit washer and dryer available for your convenience.
NATURE & WILDLIFE
Step outside to two small gardens of Missouri native wildflowers backed by acres of serene woodlands. Relax on the porch and enjoy the gentle sound of our stone water feature, and watch our frequent visitors, including deer, turkeys, and many bird species. (Keep a lookout—you might even spot a rare fox or coyote!)
ON-SITE HOSTING
Between the two couples who own the home, someone is almost always available on the upper level to answer questions, provide local tips, or help with extra requests. We love sharing our slice of the woods with you!
GETTING TO KANSAS CITY STADIUM (WORLD CUP 2026)
We are uniquely positioned to help you avoid the most stressful part of the tournament: transportation.
OPTION 1: The "VIP" Trail Route (Highly Recommended)
Avoid the gridlock and the $100+ stadium parking fees. * The Route: You can access the Rock Island Trail just a half-mile from our home. From there, it is a scenic 5-mile bike or walk directly to the Truman Sports Complex gates.
Surface: The trail is primarily paved or crushed limestone, making it an easy, flat ride for all skill levels.
Pro-Tip: While thousands wait for shuttles, you can be back at the house relaxing in the garden within 30 minutes of the final whistle.
OPTION 2: Uber & Lyft
Rideshare is available, but please plan for "Tournament Conditions":
Drop-Offs: During major events, Uber/Lyft typically must use a designated Missouri Welcome Center zone (near Gates 1 & 2). This still requires a bit of a walk to the stadium entrance.
Wait Times & Surges: Expect significant surge pricing and wait times of 60+ minutes after matches.
Traffic: Roads surrounding the stadium often become one-way or restricted on game days, which can make a short drive take much longer than a bike ride.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
We are thrilled to host guests from across the globe during this historic summer in Kansas City!
YOUR PREFERENCE
We love meeting new people and making friends, but we fully respect your privacy. Whether you’d like to share a meal and a story or prefer to keep entirely to yourselves, we will follow your lead.
LOCAL EXPERTISE
We (two couples) will be living on the upper level and are always happy to be a resource for you. Ask us for our "locals-only" tips on:
✦ STADIUM LOGISTICS: The best way to navigate the trail or beat the game-day crowds.
✦ LOCAL HISTORY: Ask us about special places where you can see and learn about the rich local history, including the historic city of Independence, Missouri, and Missouri Town Living History Museum just a short drive away.
✦ KC BBQ: Recommendations for the best ribs and burnt ends in the city (from the classics to the hidden local favorites).
✦ HIDDEN GEMS: Our favorite local coffee spots and quiet nature escapes.
Someone is typically on-site and just a quick message away if you need anything to make your stay more comfortable
