Cozy cabin in the pines - Wonderful location, steps away from the lake!

Previously a guest-favorite, Château Suisse is now under new ownership, with the same much-loved space and a few thoughtful updates to the decor, including a new bunk bed in the twin room. Our family cabin offers partial lake views, a quiet cul-de-sac perfect for kids, and an unbeatable location just steps from lake and beach access. We didn’t fully appreciate it until we stayed here ourselves, but the setting really is everything. Even with partial views, there’s something incredibly calming about catching a glimpse of the glistening lake through the trees, especially with Castle Peak rising in the background. The kitchen overlooks a small yard, and the home backs onto wilderness with hiking and cross-country trails right beyond. Well-equipped for families with all the essentials, it’s a place designed for easy, relaxed living. Kindly note a few updates are still underway, with new photos to come.

Our cabin is a comfortable, family-friendly home in an ideal location, just a 5-minute walk to the beach in summer and an 8-minute drive to Sugar Bowl in winter. The main living area is open and welcoming, with a cozy lounge, fireplace, dining space, and a kitchen that looks out onto the yard and surrounding trees. The deck sits on the same level as the living space, making it easy for kids to move between indoors and outdoors while parents relax nearby.

The bedrooms are simple and comfortable. The twin room now includes a bunk bed, making it a fun and flexible space for kids or additional guests. There’s also a mezzanine with a daybed for lounging or sleeping, just let us know if you’d like it set up.

The home backs onto forest, with a small clearing above that’s perfect for stargazing on clear nights. Outside, there’s plenty of space to unwind, play, and explore. Kids can ride bikes safely in the cul-de-sac, play in the yard, or wander down to the nearby beach. A small stream runs under the driveway, which children tend to find endlessly fascinating.

We’ve set the cabin up with families in mind, based on what works for our own three young children. You’ll find beach toys, a wagon for hauling gear, a kiddie snow shovel, children’s cutlery and crockery, a non-slip bath mat, and a cozy book corner stocked with books for ages 1–7. There are also thoughtful touches throughout to help kids feel at home.

A few fun extras like a dartboard, kayaks, and outdoor gear are available to enjoy. Whether you’re here for snowy adventures or sunny lake days, it’s a special little spot to slow down and spend time together.
