Cloverdale Hillside Lodge on 7 Wooded Acres
Summary:
Settle into Infinity Ranch, a dog-friendly hideaway on seven wooded acres above Cloverdale, where multi-level decks step down to a private hot tub and continuous wave pool under the oaks. This 1,890 sq ft, 3BR/3.5BA home sleeps 8 and sits within 20 minutes of Healdsburg's Alexander Valley wineries.
The Space:
Spend mornings with coffee on the sunset deck as light filters through the oaks, afternoons tasting through Alexander Valley wineries or driving 31 minutes south to Healdsburg, and evenings back on the deck with a Cloverdale bottle as the wave pool hums below. Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schultz Museum, Safari West, and the Luther Burbank Home are about 45 minutes out when you want to roam farther.
Step inside Infinity Ranch to a bank of windows opening onto the wooded surroundings, with a sitting area built around a 42-inch flat screen, Nintendo Wii, and a wet bar with mini-fridge for between-tasting pours. Pull up to the four-seat dining table just off the living room, or keep it casual at the informal dining area in the kitchen — a half bath sits right by the main entry for easy in-and-out from the deck.
Cook through vacation meals in the well-equipped kitchen, where light oak cabinets meet a large skylight overhead and counter space stretches for charcuterie prep before the group heads back outside.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Claim a chair on the multi-level sunset deck, where a pergola shelters wicker seating and an outdoor dining table up top. Slide down to the lower tiers for the private hot tub and continuous wave pool, ringed by mature trees, with a gas grill ready for cookouts among the tree-framed outlooks.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
All three bedrooms sit upstairs:
- Bedroom 1: King bed, private balcony, en-suite full bath with European-style in-room sink
- Bedroom 2: Double bed, shares upper-level guest bath
- Bedroom 3: Twin-over-double bunk, shares upper-level guest bath
A half bath sits by the main entry and an additional full bath is in the downstairs laundry room. Sleeps 8.
PROPERTY AMENITIES
- Private hot tub and continuous wave pool
- Multi-level sunset deck with pergola seating
- Gas grill
- Full kitchen with skylight and wet bar
- On-site parking for up to 5 vehicles
- Dog-friendly (1 dog max)
WiFi is by satellite — fine for email and browsing, but video streaming and other high-bandwidth use may be spotty.
Guest Access:
Slip into the private pool on the multi-level hillside deck, drift over to the private hot tub off the main floor, and let the skylights and porthole window do the lighting inside. The whole home is yours, dogs welcome, with outdoor dining at every level. Punch in the keypad code on arrival; up to four cars fit in the driveway (the garage is owner-only).
The Neighborhood:
Cloverdale sits at the northern tip of the Alexander Valley, one of Sonoma County’s premier Cabernet Sauvignon regions. Several wineries are a short drive from the house: Asti Winery (1.2 mi) and Icaria Creek Winery (2.2 mi) are closest, with J. Rickards Winery (2.5 mi) — known for Old Vine Zinfandel — and Blue Rock Winery (2.6 mi) just beyond. For dining, 101 Thai Way (3.0 mi) and Railroad Station Bar and Grill (3.7 mi) are local favorites, and Wolf House Brewing (3.8 mi) pours handcrafted ales with pub food on a patio. Cloverdale Dog Park (3.3 mi) is a welcome stop for four-legged travelers. The tree-lined Cloverdale Plaza (3.9 mi) anchors downtown with its rotating Sculpture Trail of 30-plus outdoor works.
Getting Around:
Cloverdale is about 95 minutes from San Francisco via US-101 North — an easy freeway drive to the northern tip of Sonoma wine country. Driveway parking accommodates up to four vehicles comfortably. A car is the easiest way to explore the Alexander Valley wineries and Lake Sonoma, both just minutes away. For tasting days, plan a designated driver or book a rideshare ahead — it makes the whole day easier.
Other Things to Note:
A few things to know before you arrive. This property does not have air conditioning — the hilltop elevation, tree canopy, and ceiling fans throughout the house keep things comfortable, but summer temperatures in Cloverdale can reach the low 90s in July and August. Wi-Fi is satellite-based, which handles email and basic web browsing well but is not ideal for streaming video or large downloads. One dog is welcome with advance notice. The home sits on seven wooded acres — bring layers for cooler evenings on the deck.
