This could be a top-rated stay but there are a few major negatives.Pros: The listing in terms of the site and access to water is accurate. The area is beautiful! And there is plenty of room for 4 adults to move around in comfort. The back porch is nice and there is a sizeable back yard for those who bring dogs. The beach is steps away from the house and we enjoyed swimming there. Cons: Firstly, the listing states that water is drawn from the lake. We have stayed at other places which do the same thing with no problem. Unfortunately, the water coming out of the kitchen tap smelled intensely of sulfur (I have a well at home and it never smells this bad) and the water coming into the bathtub was black. I did alert FirstChair who responded that they would reach out to the local team. (Note, FirstChair is located in Colorado.)Secondly, the beds are incredibly uncomfortable and squeaky. While the layout of the bedrooms and loft sleeping area are great, the beds themselves really need to be updated.Finally, the refrigerator does not work properly (again, I did alert FirstChair). The first night there, our milk froze. We did change the setting which helped but the refrigerator continued to create condensation everywhere, inside and out.Again, this place has potential, but it needs some serious work before it reaches the standard I have come to expect from VRBO properties.
