Perfect cabin feel! Had a well stocked kitchen, sadly didn't stay long enough to fully enjoy the space. We definitely expect to come back again. The thoughtfulness towards our pup couldn't have been better.

Beutiful spot!

The sunrise was amazing everyday, and dock very protected from wind. I was able to keep my boat on the dock all weekend with no worries. The water is pristine and crystal clear for swimming and kayaking!

Beautiful get-away.

Very private escape with the lake at your fingertips. Well appointed and loads of amenities you can lounge, swim, paddle or explore. We look forward to future visits. Thank you also for the accommodations for our sweet pup. She felt as at home as we did.

Lovely location and so pet friendly!

Stunning views in this cozy cottage. We sat outside next to the lake with a campfire every night. Gas burning wood stove warmed the house nicely. Beautiful fall colors everywhere!

We had a great time! The house is in a great location, beautiful views of the lake from a big back porch that looks out over the water. We used the kayaks extensively and were able to go across to some of the other islands. The house itself is comfortable, plenty of room and all the basic things you'd need for a vacation. This was an awesome central location for exploring the islands. We found good food, nice walking trails, and natural attractions. We're considering booking with the same house next year if it's available - it really was a great place to stay.

Girls weekend

This place is all about location. It’s a gorgeous spot on Champlain, and the landscaping/patios make this place. It is pretty close to a busy road making it a little loud at night if sleeping on the porch.

Everything was very nice. We were disappointed with the dock not being set up. The beds were very comfortable, the check-in process was easy and it was a beautiful view of the lake.

A little piece of heaven…

It was a cozy cottage right on lake Champlain. The views were spectacular. The lake is very clean. It has a nice dock. Supplied kayaks, paddle board, etc. Nice fire pit on the terrace right on the lake. Many places to go hiking. And dogs are welcome!

Absolutely beautiful, stunning home! Everything was clean and it had everything we could of needed. The property and views are breath taking and being able to sit outside on the water with a fire was wonderful! Awesome they allow dogs too as ours had a great time! Would 100% recommend to someone or come back here! Thank you!

Just beautiful !!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hazen’s Hideaway. The house is very well equiped And confortable. We loved the set up outside. Lot’s of activities to do on the lake or the lawn. We had a blast. The only down side is the proximity of the Road . You have to be very carefull with dogs or young kids.

Slice of heaven

The views are absolutely breathtaking. Can’t wait to come back. The island has so many hidden gem food spots. There were so many spider webs and big spiders around inside and outside, it could have used some extra love and cleaning. It gets a little loud when speeding cars go by. I wish the parking spot was a little bit larger/safer as well.

Great lakefront location

Access to the lake was key! If you are a light sleeper this property may not be for you as it is on a main road. It didn’t bother me when I used a white noise machine. I would recommend this to smaller groups, no more than four, due to size.

Pros- Amazing views and water access. Cons- Cabin is on an extremely busy 50 mph road with heavy truck traffic passing at all hours of the day and night heading to and from the Canadian border crossing just north of here in Alburgh. With the thin walls and metal cladding on the roadside porch of the cabin that acts like the skin on a drum at times, this can be disruptive to light sleepers and those looking for a quiet evenings rest.

Nice memories for owners - not so much for guests

The landscaping was stunning - beautiful yard, gorgeous flowers, beautiful patio out back. Just wished we could have spent time enjoying it. Hundreds of spiders & cobwebs. Needed a MAJOR cleaning outside. That said, the inside was extremely clean. Old cottage that I’m sure has wonderful memories for the owners - we just didn’t feel comfortable here at all unfortunately. 😢

Great memories for the owners I’m sure - just not so much for guests

We got to the house and didn’t realize that the door to enter was the slider facing the lake. We tried opening what looked like the entrance and almost pulled the door off. Found the slider unlocked that made us a bit unsettled. Pros: beautiful landscape and patio area Very very clean inside Comfortable beds Views of the lake spectacularCons: couldn’t enjoy being outside much as all of the furniture was COVERED in spiders and webs - was looking so forward to spending time out on the gorgeous patio - but didn’t want to be crawling with spiders Cottage is very old and filled with owners belongings - felt very much like we were intruding As stated by other ratings - the road. I didn’t think I’d mind too much but didn’t realize how busy it really was. I was hoping for a peaceful, restful place to stay - it just wasn’t for us. I’m sure it’s the best place for owners and their family - just not for outside guests in my opinion

Thank you for sharing your experience, Greg. We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the beautiful views, the clean interior, and the comfort of the beds. That means a lot to us. We’re very sorry the outdoor space didn’t meet expectations. The patio should be fully ready to enjoy, and we’ll be addressing the spider webs and outdoor furniture right away. We also understand how unsettling it must have been to find the entry door unlocked and unclear signage upon arrival. We’ll work with our team to improve entry instructions and ensure a smoother arrival experience. We’d love the opportunity to welcome you back to a stay that feels more restful and fully inviting.
