Property, price, location were all great for our stay. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 showers were really slow to drain with one being unusable for part of our stay until a maintenance guy came out to resolve. Also we had multiple people in our party stung by swarms of bees just by stepping on the front porch. There seems to have been a giant nest under the deck which kind of kept us away from that area. Maintenance guy emptied a couple cans of bee spray while we were there which helped but it sounded like an ongoing problem with the property that's yet to be resolved properly.

The home was large with plenty of space for everyone. The upstairs contained it's own little apartment like space, but was not well insulated and you could hear everything going on upstairs. The view and the yard were beautiful. The riverfront and river access as advertised left a lot to be desired. The home is technically on the river but you have to walk past all the houses on the road to a path to gain access. You then have to walk in shin deep mud to get into the river. We brought our kayaks and it was not ideal having to walk in mud and then rinse our feet off before getting into them. The interior of the home was beautiful, which ended up being deceiving. The burners on the stove were difficult to regulate. This caused the food to burn. The oven seemed to be less than the temperature displayed causing dinner to be lukewarm after 45 minutes instead of hot. The cooking pans appeared to be decent quality until you attempted to cook in them and even bacon stuck to the pan. I spent a lot of time scrubbing them clean. I contacted the host about the dishwasher and they said I would be compensated for hand washing dishes, which hasn't happened. Every shower in the home you had to play around with to find where hot was since it was not as simple as just pointing to hot. The home was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, hand soap, towels, toilet paper and paper towels. I also contacted the host about check out instructions and never received a reply.
