Many people flock to Quechee, Vermont every year to take in the scenic mountain views, the natural beauty, and the amazing hiking and mountain biking trails. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay to enjoy this natural beauty and get away from the stress of everyday life, Saltbox 12B is the perfect place for you.

All on the first floor of this recently renovated two-story home, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen, half bath, large living space, and special perks like a wood-burning fireplace and entertainment/reading nook. Also off the first floor, walk out the large panoramic sliding glass door, leading to a private deck equipped with a gas grill and stunning views of Vermont's Green Mountains. The upper floor has three comfortable bedrooms, all of which feature new beds, while one additionally has a private bathroom and balcony showcasing views of the natural Vermont beauty. There is also a shared bathroom for the other two bedrooms with a walk-in shower.

No matter the time of year you choose to visit Vermont, you will enjoy Quechee's spectacular views, convenience to recreational activities, and the overall ambiance of luxury and seclusion. While offering the best of Vermont vacations, Quechee is convenient to Boston, New York, Albany, cultural and entertainment events, and nearby world-class health care (Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center). It is also centrally located between Woodstock, Vermont, and Hanover, New Hampshire (home of Dartmouth College). Hanover and Woodstock combine the quaintness of beautiful New England villages with the cultural sophistication of a college town. Galleries, unique shops, museums, and a variety of excellent and unique dining experiences are available. Killington and Pico are approximately 30 minutes from Quechee and offer world-class skiing, snow-shoeing, mountain biking, golf, and other year-round activities.

The Quechee Club boasts two championship golf courses (Highland and Lakeland) in the summer which, in the winter, provide groomed Nordic skiing trails. In addition, Quechee offers tennis, pickleball, squash, skiing, and an array of options for swimmers, hikers, bikers and fishermen. The Club House has multiple dining options as well as a state-of-the-art fitness facility with indoor and outdoor pools. These Quechee Club amenities require rental packages and are available upon request from the Quechee Club directly.

Perfect location!

We loved staying at this condo during the summer! Views were beautiful and the ability to eat outside on the back patio while watching deer in the field was fabulous. We appreciated the proximity to rivers, nature trails, and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Loved it!

We have stayed in numerous homes over the years and this one is one of our favorites. It’s quiet, located in a a pristine setting which provided a beautiful sunrise, and very relaxing. They provided a list of over 100 things to do in the area, appealing to various age groups and energy levels. The location is ideal for easy access to larger metropolitan towns. We can’t wait to return!

The house was great but getting in and of the front door was very difficult…the combination lock not easy to use and was frustrating even using the keys was not easy. I think the door should be looked at. Also we couldn’t find the wood for the fireplace till we checked out so suggest you leave instructions saying where it is located . Everything else was perfect so thank you

Great family trip!

Our family of four had the most amazing weekend in Quechee! Saltbox 12 was spacious and conveniently located. The home was very clean upon check in and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make a family meal. Our favorite part of our stay was cozying up by the fire with dessert and drinks! Not only were the beds comfortable and warm but the master bedroom had a gorgeous morning view. It was the perfect home to return to after a long day out exploring everything Quechee and Woodstock had to offer. Can’t wait to return!

Great family vacation in Quechee!

We had a great stay at the saltbox condo. The apartment was clean, spacious, and perfect for our two kids (1 and 3). The space and small selection of toys and games especially came in handy with the sub-par weather weak we drew, but we were also able to beat the heat with access to the Quechee Club and Lake Pinneo, which the boys loved. The house had everything we needed for meals, entertainment, not to mention a bunk bed that our 3 year old loved. The area is great for kids, with many great walking trails and activities nearby like VINS, Billings Farm, and the Montshire science museum 15 minutes away. We definitely hope to return!

Great location for hiking in Vermont

The key code for check in did not work. Phoned in for new code. Walked into a house at 4:00pm that was Extremely HOT! Did not cool down until 4:00am. Property manager was contacted and did not help. We purchased 2 fans to help circulate the 2 window a/c cool air. Property manager refused to reimburse us. House was nicely decorated and perfectly located. We enjoyed our trip, but not our first night.

Cozy New Years Eve

Our experience at this property was fantastic! It is comfortably outfitted with anything you could possibly need. Everything felt clean and organized. We were 2 families of 3 (6 people total) with plenty of room to spare. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook 2 dinners and a breakfast during our 2 night stay. We easily found all of the tools we needed including nice quality pots, pans, knives, and plenty of glasses and dishes. Having a dishwasher made cleanup a breeze! We had a few meals out at Worthy Kitchen and The Skinny Pancake. Both very close and very yummy. There was plenty of firewood provided and we loved being cozy around the fire while enjoying the provided games and puzzles. There is even a record player with a killer record collection to add to the relaxing vibe! The area has so many activities and attractions to check out but it was hard to leave the comfort of this property. We will definitely be planning another visit soon!

Cleanliness problem

We had a similar experience as Gwenell from the Oct. 2024 review. Tried to check in at 4:30 pm after receiving a text that the condo was clean and ready. We arrived to find the whole place in disarray - full trash bins, very smelly and dirty refrigerator, crumbs everywhere on the floors and surfaces, dirty towels and bedding etc. Called and texted Vacasa and they sent someone to clean at 5:30 pm. He stayed until 9:30 pm and did the best job he could. When we finally checked in late that night, I pulled out plates and glasses from the kitchen cabinets that were greasy and dirty!!! Texted Vacasa again and they promised some sort of resolution. Never heard back from them besides the automatically generated messages after we left to ask for our review. The beds were uncomfortable. We ended up checking out a day early.

Great townhouse, disappointing responsiveness

The townhouse itself was great...clean, spacious, well stocked kitchen and everything we needed to spend quality time with family. However, the responsiveness of the management company was disappointing. We had questions about additional parking available prior to our checkin. It took 2-days to receive a response and never answered our question. Additionally, the thermostat was "offline & off" on the main floor & we weren't able to turn on the heat. The Vacasa team did not respond until 2-days after our checkout and never actually addressed the heat issue. We had to build a fire to keep the main floor above 60 degrees.

Condo not ready/lack of response

I rented months ago through the VRBO app, but received confirmation from Vacasa. In mid August, I contacted VRBO through the app to see if we could arrive a day earlier & leave a day earlier. I took screen shots of the exchange via VRBO app & their confirmation that the change had been made. Since we had 2 back to back reservations through VRBO, the app was showing the whole range of dates, so I didn’t give it much thought. A couple of days before we were to arrive, I realized VRBO had never updated the dates. They finally updated the dates. When we arrived at 5:30pm, the condo had not been cleaned & was extremely dirty (should have been ready at 4pm). I had a ridiculous lack of response from Vacasa, who kept trying to reach the “local crew” but couldn’t, and kept telling me to just wait. After an hour of sitting in the car in the cold, I got a manager with Vacasa on the phone. She also couldn’t reach anyone locally. However, a man arrived to clean and we finally got to check in at 9pm! I was told by Vacasa manager Nicole that someone would call me the next day to check on us. I’ve yet to receive a call. Needless to say, we were exhausted. Unfortunately, the kitchen still had food crumbs on the counters and table. The comforters had not been changed from the previous guests. Condo needs repairs - radiators are rusted; furniture is old, finish worn off, stained, & beat up; things broken/falling apart; the list goes on.
