The Neighborhood:

The 5th arrondissement of Paris (also called the “Panthéon arrondissement”) is one of the 20 arrondissements (administrative districts) of the capital of France.

Located on the left bank of the Seine, it is one of the central arrondissements of the capital. The arrondissement is distinguished by the presence of the Latin Quarter, a district dominated by prestigious universities, colleges, and high schools.

The 5th arrondissement is also one of the oldest districts of the city, dating back to Antiquity. Traces of the area’s past remain in sites such as the Arènes de Lutèce, a Roman amphitheater, and the Thermes de Cluny, a Roman bathhouse.
