Wonderful host

The cottage is very clean and has nice views. We got bad weather during our stay but Renate was very helpful, which gave us some comfort.

Relax on the farm

We stayed 2 nights in May when there were hundreds of baby lambs about! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. They also offer horseback rides which we enjoyed very much.

Gorgeous

A beautiful, peaceful, restorative place. Perfect for viewing Northern Lights. Host was amazing and let us stay late on our last day when my son was sick. Very understanding and kind.

Fantastic stay!

Awesome property with scenic views and calm, serene setting. Perfect stop before heading to Vik. Didn’t get a chance to horse ride but allow for time to take in the views and appreciate the horses and sheep! Thanks Renate.

Perfect location, accomodation ... and horses too :-)

We spend three nights at this place and did enjoy it very much. The accomodation is spacious, tidy and modern. Any necessary communication went smoothly and we got a good chance for horse rides too. The staff was very friendly and did perfectly adapt to the individual skill levels. No doubt we would choose this place again, highly recommended.

Hidden gem in iceland

This place is 5 stars. We stayed at one of two cabin’s on Renate’s horse farm. Our cabin was located close enough to Selfoss, and Golden Circle, but far enough where you have a peaceful river, horses, and quiet. We read about how folks wished they had more time here, and made it a point to stay for three nights, so we could enjoy the cabin, land, and views on mornings and evenings after touring. Renate was very communicative, kind, and accommodating. We even learned about Icelandic horses and took a beginner’s ride along the river with her team member Caroline (thank you for your patience!)

Das erste Mal Island

Wir hatten einen traumhaften Urlaub in unserem Ferienhaus auf Island bei Renate und ihrer Familie. Das Haus liegt ganz idyllisch am Fluss, vom Wohnzimmer hatten wir darauf einen tollen Blick, von der Küche sah man auf eine Weide mit Stuten und ihren Fohlen-traumhaft. Wir haben mehrmals die Reitangebote vom Hof genutzt, Absprachen und Termine klappten unkompliziert und schnell. Die Pferde sind in einem tollen Zustand und es wurde für jeden individuell das passende Pferd gesucht. Die Betreuung durch Renate und ihr Team war super, danke an Maja, Nina und die anderen. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder in dieses tolle Land!

Toller Urlaub mit Wahnsinnsaussicht

Das kleine Haus am Fluss bietet alles was man braucht: einmalige Lage, top Ausstattung, Fußweg zum Reitstall, familiär geführt, etwas abseits vom Touristenstrom-trotzdem in 15 min bei den nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die Reittage waren unglaublich-so viel Natur und die Pferde gutmütig, trittsicher und liebenswert. Der Urlaub hätte nicht besser sein können😍 Danke an euch Gastgeber und Reitbetreuerinnen!

Schönes, ruhiges Haus im Süden

Das Haus ist sehr klein, aber für 2 Personen vollkommen ausreichend. Es hat eine super Lage im Süden und ist trotzdem sehr ruhig gelegen. Sehr nette Vermieter, Ausritte am Hof sind definitiv zu empfehlen. Wir hatten eine super Zeit hier.

away from it all

What a relaxing environment from which to explore Iceland. We woke up to the sound of sheep and could gaze at them with the river and mountains in the back ground. It was bliss. No man made noises and near complete solitude.

Einfach toll!

Die Unterkunft hat eine tolle zentrale Lage und zugleich konnten wir die Ruhe genießen. Unterkunft und Ausstattung sind gepflegt und sehr ansprechend. Die Vermieter sind unkompliziert und aufgrund unmittelbarer Nähe bei Bedarf stets erreichbar. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Und vom Bett aus die Polarlichter beobachten…mehr geht einfach nicht! Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Breathtaking and relaxing

The pictures and the listing do not do this place justice. It is a beautiful location very clean and equipped with everything we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Amazing views and loved how the location is close to everything we wanted to see. the family was very nice and accommodating. We had our privacy, but yet had everything we needed at hand, I would definitely come back here again and have recommended this place to all my friends who are feeling adventurous, and want a relaxing clean experience. My only suggestion: a shower caddy would make this place is absolutely perfect!

Amazing experience

Great place for exploring the Golden Circle, the Westman Islands, and the South Coast. Really clean house with everything that you might need for your trip to the Land of Fire and Ice. Tasty tap water, clean air and amazing night sky with thousands of stars visible to the naked eye. Comfy beds and helpful host. Really quiet, with horses and sheep being your only neighbors. Highly recommend.

Perfect first experience with Iceland and VRBO

Wonderful, beautiful and relaxing setting to restore and explore! Easily commute to Selfoss, Golden Circle and Southern area. Easy, relaxing day trip to Blue Lagoon. The farm has beautiful Icelandic horses which can be rented for riding; we enjoyed watching them especially in front of the lake as the sun set or rose. After overnight trip from U.S.A., host graciously offered earlier arrival time which was much appreciated! Cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed to enjoy some meals at home. It’s very much designed to comfortably house guests - enough storage space to unpack a family of 3 for the week and store luggage under the bed. There was an additional pull-out sofa bed for two more people but we didn’t use it. Renate was there for us if we needed her but gave us complete privacy during our stay. We felt extremely safe in the area, we were very warm and cozy during this winter visit, always had hot water quickly and beds/bedding were very comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for anything else!

Great base for Golden Circle touring!

Wunderschöne Lage am Fluss

Das Haus ist klein, aber sehr funktional und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Lage ist herrlich. Wir haben die Abendstunden mit Blick auf den Fluss und die Islandpferde sehr genossen. Der Hof ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge an die Südküste Islands. Meine Tochter hat auch die Ausritte auf dem Hof sehr genossen und wollte gar nicht mehr nach Hause, wir kommen wieder :)

Perfekte Unterkunft

Wir durften eine Woche in diesem wunderbaren Haus wohnen. Die Lage ist traumhaft - weit und breit Natur pur. Vom Bett aus hat man einen wundervollen Blick auf den Fluss. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Haus und dessen Einrichtung ist sauber, modern und hat den gewissen Wohlfühlfaktor. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Tolles kleines Haus mit grandioser Lage

Wir hatten als Familie mit zwei Kindern zwei tolle und sehr erholsame Wochen. Das Häuschen ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht, modern und sauber. Der Blick auf den Fluss bei Sonnenuntergang ist einzigartig, Renate als Gastgeberin herzlich und hilfsbereit. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten im Süden Islands sind gut zu erreichen, rund ums Haus hatten wir Erholung pur.
