Full story: every room has a sink. Showers are shared between 2 rooms. No one was staying in the other side of our shower so we didn’t have to share. Toilets are public and in our case down the hall a ways. We checked in, Mary was our host and was so kind. We got a skeleton key to the room. Since we were the only ones in our hallway and all of the rooms had doors that were slightly ajar I tried the skeleton key on another room. It fit. So the key is symbolic, don’t bother locking the door to your room. The lodge appears not to have been altered since it was built in 1922. I absolutely loved the charm. Breakfast and dinner in the dining room were fantastic. Don’t forget to bring a cash tip to meals, the staff is so kind you will want to tip. They have beautiful screened in porches with rocking chairs. It felt like a wonderful step back in time. The pool overlooks rolling farm fields. A lot is said about the fun concerts at this place. We were there for a float trip not a concert but I would return any time I needed a place in steelville and might just have to try a concert . 10/10 for how nice it was. Expect a low key stay with kind people and terrific food. Can’t say enough about how cool this place is!
