At Haus Harzcolor—freshly renovated in fall 2022 and newly and lovingly furnished—located in the heart of Wernigerode’s historic district, we’d like to offer you an unforgettable vacation experience that you’ll remember for a long time to come.

Awaiting you in a historic neighborhood is a beautiful half-timbered house with over 100 years of tradition.

Spanning 110 square meters across three floors—accessible via two wooden staircases—the house comfortably accommodates up to five people. An extra bed for up to 8 people is available upon request.

On the lower floor is the first, very spacious bedroom with a crib, a large double bed, and high-quality mattresses for a restful night’s sleep. You’ll also find the first bathroom here, featuring a shower, bathtub, and toilet, as well as an utility room with a washer and dryer. The rear exit leads to a small, cozy courtyard with a comfortable seating area. You can store your personal gear (bicycles, skis, etc.) safely and dry in the lockable shed here.

The first flight of stairs leads to the middle level of the large living and dining area, which is very cozily furnished in the idyllic Harz style. Right next door is a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. Immediately behind it, in a small separate room in the addition, you’ll find another bathroom with a shower and toilet.

Back in the main house, another flight of stairs leads you to the attic. There you’ll find the second bedroom with a large double bed and a pull-out bed. After an eventful day, the children will also find the perfect place to retreat here.

Our Harzcolor house is the ideal, central base with direct access to the Harz National Park. Planning a sporting activity? Want to immerse yourself in history? Would you like to experience the cultural diversity? Then you’ve come to the right place. A 3-minute walk takes you right to the historic town hall of Wernigerode (according to many travel guides, “the most beautiful in Europe”). As the Harz narrow-gauge railway chugs its way up to the Brocken, you can relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Harz countryside. You can also reach the Brockenbahn station at a leisurely pace in just 3 minutes.

In the town center, a variety of shopping options and culinary restaurants invite you to stroll and savor the experience.

Not far from our “colorful town” of Wernigerode, you can take day trips to places such as the World Heritage city of Quedlinburg, the Imperial Palace in Goslar, or the Hexentanzplatz in Thale.

You can easily load and unload your car right in front of our vacation home. Several parking garages are located in the immediate vicinity.

To ensure a relaxing vacation and allow you to experience as many sights as possible, we recommend booking a stay of at least 3 nights.
