In Innertkirchen (less than 10 minute walk) there is a Volg supermarket, various cafes, bank and tourist office. The larger town of Meiringen is a 10 minute drive away, with supermarkets, shops and other amenities.

The chalet was built in 1884 as a traditional farmhouse and preserves many of the original details (like the wooden frames) in the interior.
