Hi! We’re Iselin and Trond-Ole, a family of five who love spending time by the sea, exploring nature, playing golf, and creating unforgettable moments together.
In 2023, we became the proud owners of this historic waterfront lodge on Herdla. We instantly fell in love with the area—not only because of the stunning coastal scenery, but because Herdla is one of those rare places where you can truly slow down while still having plenty to experience.
From beautiful beaches, scenic walking trails, and excellent fishing to golf, kayaking, museums, local history, and a charming village store, Herdla offers something for every generation. It truly is one of Norway’s hidden coastal gems.

Everything you need in one place One of the things we love most about staying here is that you rarely feel the need to leave.
Start the day with breakfast overlooking the sea, spend the afternoon kayaking or paddleboarding, enjoy the nearby beach, play golf, explore local museums, go cycling, or simply relax on the dock.
As the evening arrives, our favourite moment is sitting in the hot tub by the waterfront, watching boats pass by while the sun slowly sets over the Norwegian coast.
We’ve also equipped the property with bicycles, kayaks, SUP boards, beach toys, and family-friendly outdoor activities because we believe the best holidays happen when everyone—from young children to grandparents—can enjoy themselves together.

A place with history Our lodge dates back to 1920, and preserving its unique character has been one of our biggest priorities.
Many of the original details have been carefully maintained, giving the house a warm atmosphere where history meets modern comfort.
One of the most fascinating stories connected to the property is its link to the famous Norwegian polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen, who helped establish the lodge. His vessel, Armour Hansen, was once moored at the quay just outside, making this property part of Norway’s rich maritime heritage.
