With 6 bedrooms and 6½ bathrooms, Renegade Chalet comfortably accommodates large families and groups while offering plenty of space to relax and unwind, The well-equipped gourmet kitchen has everything the discerning home chef needs for memorable meals together.

Enjoy effortless ski-in/ski-out access from the home's impressive resort-style ski room, complete with individual lockers and boot warmers. Step outside and ski directly onto the Natwista run for convenient access to Madison Base. At the end of the day, ski home, leave your gear in th ski room and unwind in the private jacuzzi beneath the coverred patio while taking in the mountain surroundings.

At the heart of the home, the spacious family room, kitchen and dining area create a warm and welcoming setting for everyone to gather. The family room features a dramatic floor-to-ceiling stacked-stone wood-burining fireplace, generous seating and comfortble spaces for relaxing after a day on the mountain. The newly renovated interiors blend sophisticated mountain style with authentic Montana character, including striking buffalo, moose, and mountain lion mounts alongside a thoughtfully curated and growing art collection, including David Yarrow and Greg Woodard statue.

Just steps away, the beautifully equipped kitchen features a six-burner gas range stainless-steel appliances, a large granite center island, and ample space for preparing everything from casual breakfasts to memorable family dinners. Three seats at the breakfast bar and an addition nearby high top provide relaxed seating, while the dining table accommodates 12 guests against a spectacular wall of windows overlooking the snow-capped Spanish Peaks.

Wonderful home right on the ski slope!

We had a wonderful stay at the Renegade Chalet! This home was perfect for our large family group! The ski room was amazing to have! So convenient to have a place to keep the ski equipment out of the living areas! We enjoyed the hot tub every day! And the property manager Chris was so great and responsive! We will definitely stay again when we come back to Big Sky!

Annual Family Ski Trip

We have been getting together as a family to ski for 15 plus years. We have stayed at many different resorts/houses and this house by far has been the best. Very spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, oh and the ski in ski out is phenomenal. Thanks for a wonderful trip

The best part of renting our home is when we hear from our guests mid week how much they love the house and their vacation. The Bland family had a large group for their family ski trip and they all took great care of everything. We would love to have them as our guests again.

Outstanding location

We had a large group and the house was a great fit for our trip. Two equally sized masters, large fireplace for those relaxing evenings after a day on the slopes, a game room to unwind in, and perhaps the best room, a large ski room with all the accessories and space to gear up and down right before or after walking steps to the run which can begin your journey around the mountain. Would definitely stay again. Responsive property management if there were any questions was also a plus.

Great location, well appointed house.

Great location, ski-in/out to six shooter lift. The house was exactly as advertised/depicted. The house was well decorated, everything in working order, great outdoor space if you happen to have warm sunny days. The ski locker was large.

Superb ski-in / ski-out location...

Walk out of the large ski room, click on skis, start skiing down the Natawista run to the Madison Base or Six Shooter lift - its that easy. Plenty of space to sleep, lounge, eat, or hang out with family and friends when you're not on the slopes. Hot tub facing the trail is a great touch - relax and watch the skiers pass by. We had no car so all we did was ski and eat at the Renegade Chalet - and it was fabulous!.

Great Time At Renegade Chalet

This house is amazing. The convenience of the homes location was amazing. To say this house is ski in ski out would be an understatement. You can literally ski right up to the back door. Ownership and property management were super easy to communicate with and extremely accommodating. We cooked most meals in the home and everything we needed to do so was there.

Heaven

We enjoyed our stay. It felt like home.. All our needs were anticipated before our arrival. Having a heated driveway was fabulous for all the snow we received. The kids loved the hot tub, game room and sledding available. The house manager allowed our groceries order from the Country Market to be delivered before our arrival. We will be booking another trip here soon.

Spring skiing at Big Sky

What a fantastic place! We had a great time spring skiing with family and friends from all over the country. When we arrived, the house was truly amazing, exceeding our high expectations. It is beautiful, really welcoming and comfortable, well appointed, and the location is the best on the mountain. Chris was super helpful and responsive. We cannot recommend it anymore, and will definitely be returning.

Unbelievable Experience at the Renegade Chalet

What an amazing time and experience. We had record SNOW fall for Thanksgiving we were able to SKI in and SKI out. The house was amazing and the service was great. Couldnt ask for a better home and service. Chris the owner helped us our prior and chris the property manger was top notch. He noticed one day the driveway was not defrosting due to some warmer temps the day before and he came immediately and fixed it one morning. We had 6 Adults and 4 littles under 7. They kids loved the house and loved the snow right out the back door. Thank you for opening your home to us. We would book it again for sure.

Best Family Ski Trip Ever

Let me start off by saying I don’t usually do reviews. In fact this might be the first one I’ve ever done. We do a family ski trip every year. We normally get at least 1 to 3 other families to join us. We usually go to Whistler, British Columbia but we’ve also done Park City, Utah. Thanks to Covid, we couldn’t do Whistler this year. So this year we chose Big Sky. This was our first time going to Big Sky. Let me just say that this trip might go down as our best family ski trip ever. The house was absolutely amazing. And I stayed in a lot of different places. I’ve stayed in Airbnb‘s in Jackson Hole, Waldorf-Astoria in Park city, Hilton and Weston‘s in Whistler, British Columbia. Plus many other places in Utah and Colorado. The accommodations and location of this home was better than all of those other places. This house was perfectly situated on the mountain. It is located in Moonlight Basin area of the mountain. The run that the house is on is called Smitty’s. This run takes you straight to Six Shooter ski lift. The ski room in this house was unequal to anything I’ve ever experienced. The size and convenience of the ski room in this house almost makes this feature alone worthwhile to be here. The convenience is unmatched. It was like having your own miniature lodge locker area. The heated floors worked to perfection in assuring all of your gear would be dry the next day. The home accommodated 14 of us very easily. We had a wide range age group as well. With 4 different families in this age group. The living spaces were very large. The hot tub was used often. We even managed to have a chef (Food for Thought) come to the house with a helper to prepare food for us every night. This made dinners a breeze. The chef was able to cook everything right in our kitchen. Big Sky mountain skiing and riding was great. Lots of variety. Not quite as much variety and size as Whistler, but very comparable to other American ski resorts out west. Definitely one of my favorites. What a great place to ski and ride. The 2 plus feet of fresh snow was the icing on the cake. If I had to use one word to describe this year’s family ski trip, and this home, that word would simply be “perfect”! My only concern is that when people start to find out about this place, it will reduce the availability for me when I want to go back! Lol. Lastly, the owner was great to work with. Very informative and helpful.

Wonderful Big Sky vacation

We just spent an incredible week at Renegade Chalet. The house itself exceeded our already lofty expectations (based upon the description and pictures). There was plenty of room for our family (three generations) and the accommodations first rate. The location of the house has several advantages. The most obvious is the ski-in ski-out feature. There is easy access to a simple trail and a straightforward path to get back to the house. The Moonlight Basin ski area is a participant in the IKON ski pass, so the pass that we purchased back east worked seamlessly there. Other location advantages include the beautiful views, proximity to Yellowstone for a day trip, and the ability to obtain a short term membership to the Moonlight Basin lodges which provide several activities, amenities and restaurants. I also have to mention the generosity and flexibility of the owner. Our party was originally scheduled to visit in January but the omicron surge disrupted that arrival. Chris was gracious enough to allow us to postpone the trip until April. He and his house manager were both easy to work and provided excellent suggestions for food and places to visit.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE

This was the perfect place to stay for a family Christmas. The home is magnificent and the ski in ski out was wonderful. This truly was a magical experience. The owner was so gracious and kind and the house manager was beyond helpful. If a five star rating is the best....I give it a 10. I could go on forever about the location, the amenities and the service, etc. Just know....you will not be disappointed.

I know this because I have been going to the house for years now and have been enjoying a mix of all the above type of trips. The location and views make the house SPECIAL while the house itself speaks to mountain LUXURY. This is not your normal vacation property! One suggestion…. read the guest information packet if it’s your first time going to Big Sky. So much great information. Planning is key and this packet helps you do just that.

Awesome Adventure

We went out to Big Sky for an extended family trip celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The age ranges were 7 all the way to 71. My sister and I researched many properties and this one continued to jump out at us. We reserved it and were beyond happy we decided upon Renegade Chalet! It just fit our group perfectly! You get two Chris' with this property. The Chris who owns the property was great. I sent him many emails in preparation for our trip our west and he always responded with exactly what I was looking for and/or needed. He provided activities, restaurants, etc. And, a multi-page guide to Renegade Chalet and the Big Sky surrounding area. Very helpful to us. The second Chris was the onsite property manager. Again, he was great! We had a dining room chair that needed to be fixed and he was out within hours fixing it (even though we could have lived without it). He was very knowledgeable about the area and things to do and see. He even spent some time on the phone with my bro in law before we got out there giving him the fishing updates. So nice! We loved this house and the area. I would highly recommend.

Spring Break Ski Trip

We stayed at the Renegade Chalet with a group of families (with teens) and had max capacity. This property is absolutely amazing. The house is as good as the pictures look. This is an a very high quality home and evident when you see the fine details that make it one of a kind. The ski locker room was huge and kept all the ski gear in one location without kids losing everything. Heated deck space allowed for dinners on the porch as the sun went down and viewing the mountains. There was plenty of space for all the people and we never felt overcrowded. It is located on a ski trail and easy to ski into and then ski out to the 6-Shooter lift. The owner was in touch at time of booking and then touched base to see if everything was ok. It made for an incredible place to stay for our ski vacation and we have great memories of our ski trip.

The thought of opening our home for people to rent was not an easy one. We know we made the right decision after meeting such nice people that treat our home like it were their own. good place for family stay or with friends

ski locker was awesome. main room was great. fireplace, tv, etc. sonos never did work properly, 5 grown men all with sonos systems at home and it only would play intermittently. I would return and recommend.

Jeff, I really appreciate the 5 star rating. We go to great lengths to gain this rating from our guests. I am sorry the Sonos experience was not as simple as you are used to. The system that we have is a Crestron home automation system that utilizes Sonos to play music. It is a bit different from just using Sonos. We have attempted to bridge this gap by publishing "How to use" instructions in both the user guide and the Renegade Chalet book at the house. I will work harder with our IT team to ensure that the Crestron/Sonos user experience is simplified. You and your group were great to have as guests and we would be honored to serve you again.
