In the evening, why not take a dip at the nearby iodine-brine thermal baths in Bad Bevensen?
A canoe trip on the Ilmenau River is also wonderful. There is a dock in town from which you can set off.
If you’re looking to venture further afield, Emmendorf lies between the main Hamburg–Hanover rail line.
Hamburg is just under an hour away by train and is always worth a visit.
Uelzen is home to the remarkable Hundertwasser train station.
Shopping and other recreational activities are available about 7 km away.
