Private Pool Villa

A peaceful private villa in the countryside near Tangalle, designed for couples who value privacy, nature and a slower rhythm of life.

A new private pool is currently being added and will be ready for all stays from December 2026. The villa is closed until then while the upgrade is completed.

The villa is fully private, spacious and uncluttered, with an easy indoor-outdoor flow. Large doors and windows bring in daylight and fresh air, while the covered veranda and private pool create a relaxed outdoor living space for slow mornings, quiet afternoons and peaceful evenings.

Inside, the sleeping, living and bathroom areas are simply arranged, with everything designed to feel light, calm and easy to settle into.

Nature begins just beyond the villa. Village paths, rice fields and a small nearby lake invite gentle walks in the early morning or around sunset. The beaches around Tangalle are about 10–15 minutes away by tuk-tuk or scooter, and we’re happy to help arrange transport whenever you wish to explore.

Authentic Sri Lankan home-cooked meals are available on request and are often mentioned by guests as a highlight.

We live nearby — close enough to help whenever needed, but always happy to stay in the background if you prefer complete independence.

Hi, I’m Nuwan. For twelve years, I worked far from home in large hotels and on distant islands. I learned a lot about hospitality, but also that the small, human things are often what matter most.

I wanted to create something more personal and honest — a place where people can slow down, feel cared for and simply be themselves. So my family and I built NJ House here in Tangalle with our own hands.

My wife, our daughter and I live next door. We are here when you need us, and we step back when you want your own space and quiet. For us, welcoming guests is not just a business. We want you to feel genuinely at home.

We chose to build NJ House here in Tangalle because it reflects the kind of place we wanted to create: simple, calm and close to our own family life.

NJ House was never meant to feel like a hotel. We wanted a home where guests could slow down, enjoy their own space and experience a quieter, more personal kind of stay. We live right next door, so this is not simply a location where we host guests — it is also part of our own everyday life.

That connection to the place is an important part of what NJ House is.

What makes this villa special is the combination of privacy, space and a slower countryside setting.

From December 2026, the villa will have its own private pool, together with a large covered veranda and generous indoor-outdoor living space. It is designed for couples and slow travellers who want somewhere peaceful to relax, read, enjoy long mornings and spend time outdoors without feeling part of a busy hotel or resort.

At the same time, NJ House remains personal. Our family lives nearby, home-cooked Sri Lankan meals are available on request, and Tangalle’s beaches and town are still within easy reach.

It is a simple, private place where you can slow down and enjoy southern Sri Lanka at your own pace.
