Wunderschöne, Moderne Ferienwohnung in Österreich mit dem Charme von 1750

Our vacation rental is located on the first floor of our house, which was built around 1750.
The house at that time belonged to the Hollenburg estate
and was given a “vulgar name”: Mahar.
In the mid-1990s, an additional story was added, and as part of this renovation, the plumbing, electrical wiring, insulation, etc., were updated.


Within less than 2 km, you’ll find shopping options, a bank branch, the local doctor’s pharmacy, a gas station, and a tobacco shop/kiosk selling newspapers and tobacco products.
Regional specialties are available right in the village.
You can reach both Klagenfurt am Wörthersee and Villach in less than 30 minutes.

Just 300 meters away is the Drau River, famous for the Drau Cycle Path. This path is perfect for beautiful bike rides or walks along the water.
For a cool refreshment on hot summer days, the natural swimming lake in Sankt Johann (about 5 km away) offers a wonderful swimming experience for young and old alike.

The hiking experience here also leaves nothing to be desired. A hike, for example, to the Klagenfurter Hütte is worthwhile all year round.
Furthermore, the Rosental valley and its surroundings offer many recreational activities, such as via ferrata routes, the Pyramidenkogel Wildlife Park, a go-kart track, the Wörthersee with boat tours, breathtaking gorges (e.g., the Tscheppa Gorge), and much more.

Day trips to Italy (e.g., to the Laghi di Fusine) and to Slovenia (e.g., to Ljubljana) are also very popular, as our vacation rental is located not far from the national borders.

For delicious meals, regional specialties, and snacks, there are numerous options in the surrounding area, some of which are just a few minutes’ walk away.

Our vacation rental is located in the beautiful, quaint village of Suetschach. It’s surrounded by farmland and meadows, with views of the Karawanken Mountains and our “local mountain,” the Matschacher Gupf. This artists’ village in the valley has its own unique charm, with many old houses—almost all of which also have a “vulgo name.”
