Welcome to your vacation! The vacation rental at the Vogelhaus in Calau in the Spreewald is a lovely retreat for relaxing moments and excursions to the Spreewald, the “Switzerland of Kalau,” and the Lusatian Lake District.

Enjoy your time off in our lovingly eco-renovated and high-quality furnished vacation apartment. The apartment is located in the light-filled attic of a small brick house, which we affectionately call the “Vogelhaus.” Two bedrooms can accommodate up to four adults and/or children. A crib, high chair, and toys are available for our youngest guests.

When furnishing the apartment, we placed great emphasis on high-quality amenities. This starts right in the kitchen: In addition to a coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster, you’ll find spices, coffee and tea, and all sorts of kitchen essentials, as well as a modern combination oven with a microwave, a stove, and a dishwasher.

The vacation rental has two bedrooms. From the double bed (160 wide), on clear nights you can gaze up at the starry sky through the skylight—a luxury of country living. The second bedroom has two single beds and a wooden crib; a travel crib can be set up if needed. Both bedrooms can be completely darkened for an afternoon nap.

From the southeast-facing rooftop terrace, the view stretches out over the greenery toward Calauer Schweiz. In the garden, lounge chairs and the barbecue area with outdoor furniture invite you to linger. A small outdoor sauna is available.

Here you can breathe easy and enjoy your precious vacation days. Also suitable for people with allergies; therefore: no smoking, no pets.

Discover the “wholesome little town with a sense of humor” Calau on the “Kalauer-Witzerundweg” (pun trail), let your mind wander on a hike through “Calauer Schweiz” or while paddling or taking a boat ride through the enchanting, fairy-tale-like Spreewald, or discover the breathtaking origins of the Lusatian Lake District—formed from open-pit mining pits—and immerse yourself in industrial history, for example, at the edge of the open-pit mine or on the F60 conveyor bridge. We’re right in the middle of it all! We’d be happy to help you plan your vacation.
