Ferienwohnung mit 53 qm, 1 Schlafzimmer, 1 Wohn-/essbereich, Max. für 2 Personen
The "Alte Schule Nausdorf" is located in the center of the idyllic village of Nausdorf, a district of the town of Lenzen (Elbe) in the Lenzen-Elbtalaue administrative district within the Prignitz district in Brandenburg. Nausdorf has approximately 50 residents and is located seven kilometers northeast of Lenzen (Elbe) and 21 kilometers west-northwest of Perleberg, the seat of the Prignitz district. Immediately north of Nausdorf lies the Rambower Moor, a nature reserve. With its unique flora and fauna, it is one of the most beautiful through-flow bogs in Brandenburg and features numerous springs along its edges. The diverse habitats are best explored along the large, 12-kilometer-long loop trail. In the spring, orchids, ragged robins, and marsh marigolds bloom in the colorful wet meadows. The bright orange-red copper butterfly can also be spotted here. Cranes can almost always be spotted. A fascinating natural spectacle in late fall is the arrival of the cranes and wild geese, which seek out their roosting grounds in the moor at dusk. Heading south, you can hike to Lake Rudow. On the approximately 10-km-long loop trail, you’ll hike along the largest lake in the Prignitz region, which offers plenty of spots to stop and relax. There are swimming areas at its northern and southern ends (both of which have campgrounds). About 6 km away, you’ll reach the Elbe River floodplain, which offers beautiful opportunities for (cycling) hikes, scenic views, and wildlife observation. Nausdorf and its surroundings are part of the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve, which was recognized by UNESCO in 1997 and spans five federal states. Covering approximately 282.250 ha, it is the largest inland biosphere reserve in Germany. It represents one of the last near-natural river landscapes in Central Europe. The nearby town of Lenzen is home to, among other things, the BUND Visitor Center at Burg Lenzen with its observation tower. The exhibition “River Landscape on the Green Belt” focuses on the natural and cultural history of the river landscape. Spanning four floors, all the way up to the dome of the medieval castle tower, the exhibition offers historical insights and interesting facts about floodplain ecology and flood protection, the biosphere reserve, and the controversial topic of flooding. From up here, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the river landscape. A special highlight is the newly opened “AuenReich” in the castle garden. From Lenzen, there is a ferry service across the Elbe to Pevestorf, from where you can take day trips to the Höhbeck, to Gartow, and into the Wendland region. The Vacation Apartment The vacation apartment is approximately 53 square meters in size and consists of a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom (shower/toilet); the kitchen is separated by half-timbered beams. The kitchen is equipped with two hot plates, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a toaster oven, a toaster, and a coffee maker. The vacation rental is suitable for 2 people. Biosphere Reserve Partner The vacation rental is located in the UNESCO Elbe River Landscape Brandenburg Biosphere Reserve. Since spring 2024, our vacation rental has been recognized as a partner business of the Elbe River Landscape Brandenburg Biosphere Reserve.
