Welcome to the Old Barn!
Our vacation home in the beautiful Bärenstein neighborhood of Altenberg offers you uniquely designed, non-smoking Art Nouveau-style rooms.
We’ve lovingly renovated an old barn and strived to create a special atmosphere while preserving the building’s original character.
From here, it’s only about a 20-minute walk to the historic town center with its postal milestone and Pochwerk.
Our lovingly furnished rooms (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 large living and dining area with a wood-burning stove) and our outdoor area—featuring a large covered terrace, a grill, and a stylish garden—ensure a cozy atmosphere.

Unwind in the tranquility of nature. Hike through our unique rocky ridge landscape to the nearby wildlife park, up the Geisingberg, or to the Galgenteichen, or visit the major cities of Prague and Dresden.

Everything is just a stone’s throw away.
Enjoy your time in the Eastern Ore Mountains.

Here, you have the opportunity to take a little trip back in time. Step back 120 years to the Art Nouveau era.

We’ve lovingly restored original furniture and combined it with modern comforts.
Let yourself be inspired by stuccoed ceilings, stylish lamps, and artfully decorated tiles. Immerse yourself in times long past and take in new impressions.
After eventful days, relax in our stylishly furnished bedrooms and enjoy the coziness of the period furnishings.
Enjoy our bathrooms (sink/shower/toilet or sink/bathtub/toilet) featuring Art Nouveau-style tile motifs combined with modern designs.

Take a seat on the historic sofa overlooking our garden, whip up some tasty treats in our spacious kitchen, or stoke a cozy fire in the wood-burning stove.

On-site costs: Payment must be made in advance via bank transfer. A deposit of 20% of the total price will be charged after booking and must be paid within 7 days of booking. The remaining 80% of the total price must be paid by bank transfer no later than 8 days before the start of the rental period. Check-in is available from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Check-out is due by 10:00 AM. Other check-in and check-out times are possible upon request. A security deposit of 100 € is required. Keys will be handed over in person on site. Pets are not allowed. The visitor’s tax of €1.60 per person (ages 18 and up) per night will be charged additionally on site. €1.35 per person (ages 6 and up) per night. Meals are not provided. The base price includes bed linens, towels, soap, final cleaning, and parking. Wi-Fi is not available.



Check-in is from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and check-out is from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
