Captainshuus - 110 m² vacation rental with a fully fenced-in yard for up to 8 people. No separate rooms for workers! Rooms are allocated based on the number of guests. For example, for 2 guests: 1 bedroom; for 2nd and 3rd guests, the 2nd bedroom, and so on. Always includes a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Children and dogs are welcome!
The Captainshuus is located in Wiesens, a partially historic district of Aurich, right on the Ems-Jade Canal with its own small harbor. It’s in a quiet spot in the polder region, where deer, hares, and pheasants roam right past our front door. At the end of a cul-de-sac, you’ll find our lovingly furnished vacation rental. A journey of discovery through our East Frisian homeland awaits you. Immerse yourself in a blend of tradition and modernity. Unspoiled nature, hospitable people, and a wealth of vacation activities. A highly recommended country inn with a bowling alley, a pub, a butcher shop, and a good pizzeria with delivery service make the region in and around Wiesens an attractive leisure destination for young and old alike. Wiesens boasts extensive forests with numerous well-maintained hiking and biking trails, as well as several farms. These are located far enough away to avoid any unpleasant odors. Depending on the wind direction, you can hear horses neighing, roosters crowing, or the numerous cows in the pasture from the vacation home. A local chicken farm supplies us with fresh eggs at its farm stand; the homemade egg liqueur is divine, and they also offer delicious honey and much more. You can find peace and relaxation on long walks, leisurely bike rides, and relaxing, sociable boat tours on the area’s many bodies of water. There’s a heated outdoor pool about 3 km away. The bakery and grocery stores are just as close. The city center of Aurich is about 7 km away. Here you’ll find everything you need, from a hospital and doctors to an indoor swimming pool, a movie theater, and more. Within a 15-km radius lies the stunning swimming lake in Tannanhausen, featuring water skiing, a water park, dining options, and everything you need for fun, games, and relaxation. The North Sea, with its endless recreational opportunities, is only about 30 km away.

Park your car in the carport reserved for our VIP guests. In the enclosed area, bicycles can be parked under cover, right in front of the entrance to the vacation rental. There is also a small covered smoking area here, as well as a place to charge your e-bike. Unfortunately, due to allergies, cats are not permitted in our non-smoking home. From the smoking area, you have direct access to the cozy sunroom, which features a table, a corner bench, and chairs. From here, you can enjoy a view of and access to the guest garden. The garden features a lounge area, a charcoal grill, a table, and chairs. A hammock ensures total relaxation. The younger members of the group will want to explore the trampoline, the swing, and the sandbox. When the weather is warm, a dog- and child-friendly pool is also available. A Bobby Car, badminton, table tennis, and more are there to add to the fun and games. A rotary clothesline can hold all the towels and laundry that accumulate during your vacation.
Through the front door, you enter the spacious entryway with a shoe rack. From here, a wooden staircase leads you to the living area on the first floor. The stairs are equipped with carpet tiles for slip resistance, and the youngest guests are protected upstairs by a child-safety blind.
Immediately to the left is the largest bedroom—the Swiss stone pine bedroom. A large wardrobe, TV, and a 180 cm x 200 cm double bed with an electric slatted frame invite you to snuggle up and dream. From here, you have a sweeping view of the garden, and the morning sun shines beautifully into the bed.
Next to the Swiss stone pine room is a small single room—the blue room—with a closet and a bed. There is also a baby crib (60 cm x 120 cm) with a comforter, pillow, and, depending on the baby’s size, a sleep sack. If necessary, an additional travel crib can be set up. A baby monitor is also provided. A stroller (which can be converted into a double stroller) can be rented for 10.00 euros for the entire stay. A handcart is also available, which makes things much more convenient for the whole family at the beach and on outings. This saves valuable space in your trunk when arriving and departing.
Across from the single room is the modern bathroom. The bathroom features two sinks, a large shower, and a toilet. Behind the door, a washing machine is ready for use. On top of the washing machine is a sturdy, spacious changing table. A baby bathtub is available for the little ones to enjoy bath time. There is also a laundry basket provided for your convenience.
There is another toilet directly to the right of the stairs.
A large room—the yellow room—offers enough space for three single beds (two of which can be pushed together to form a double bed), a wardrobe, and a dresser.
Across from the yellow room is the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has plenty of cabinets, a refrigerator and freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher, an oven, and a stove with an induction cooktop. There is also a filter coffee maker, an electric espresso maker, an electric kettle, and an electric blender. Pots, pans, baking dishes, dishes, and silverware are also provided. This means you can really let your creativity run wild while cooking and baking. A large, solid oak dining table with benches and chairs, as well as high chairs (up to 3), invite you to sit together and enjoy a meal. A sterilization set is available for baby bottles.
In the light-filled living room area, you’ll find two three-seater sofas, two armchairs, and a height-adjustable coffee table. The living room features a TV, radio, and cabinets with a variety of games.
At the end of the hallway is the smaller—purple — room with two single beds that can be pushed together to form a double bed, a TV, a clothes rack, and a dresser.
All beds have mattresses measuring 90 cm x 200 cm, as well as comfort-sized blankets (155 cm x 200 cm) and orthopedic pillows. All bedrooms can be darkened with roller shades.
Upon arrival, each guest will receive: 1 beach towel, 1 bath towel, 1 face towel, 2 washcloths, and a freshly made bed. If desired, you can rent a cozy cotton bathrobe—in your size—for a rental fee of 7.50.
For the kitchen, 2 dish towels, 2 dishcloths, and 1 kitchen towel are provided.
A dog bed, as well as water and food bowls, are provided for your dog.
If you are not renting the entire house (rental price applies for a minimum of 6 people), only the bedrooms required based on the number of guests will be available.
