Living in the countryside - but central

Our quiet vacation rental for 1 to 2 people is located in the southern Ruhr region, on the border with the Bergisches Land.
The nearby A1, A43, and A46 highways take you to Wuppertal and the Ruhr metropolitan areas of Dortmund, Bochum, and Essen in 10–30 minutes. The Rhine cities and trade fair hubs of Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Leverkusen are just 30–50 minutes away.

These cities offer a wealth of cultural attractions, including musicals (such as “Starlight Express” in Bochum), the unique suspension railway, concerts, theater, cabaret, zoos (the Green Zoo in Wuppertal, Zoom Erlebniswelt in Gelsenkirchen, Bochum Zoo, etc.), and, of course, industrial heritage.

But nature also plays a major role thanks to the property’s location within a scenic conservation area. For hiking enthusiasts, the Elfringhauser Schweiz—a large hiking area—is about 10 minutes away, and the Muttental in Witten is also popular with hikers and just as quick to reach. Cyclists can reach the Glückauftrasse in five minutes—a direct connection to the Bergisches Panorama Bike Trail on one side and the Ruhr Valley Bike Trail on the other.
Water sports enthusiasts can paddle on the Ruhr just as easily as on the nearby Wupper River. Detailed information on the individual activities is available in the apartment; otherwise, we’re happy to provide further details upon request!
