You will stay in a charming, newly completed (2025) old barn in a small village with excellent restaurants, a friendly bakery, a butcher, and a small self-service shop. A cycle path runs directly past the house, and an adventure playground is nearby. The center of Lauterbach is only 1 km away. The historic old town of Alsfeld with its half-timbered houses is close by, and regular bus connections take you to the train station and to Fulda. Eisenbach Castle is about 5 km away, as is a volcanic thermal bath in Herbstein. In Lauterbach, an indoor and adventure pool is easily accessible. Year-round, you can enjoy volcano hikes, Hoherodskopf with summer toboggan run, climbing forest, snowshoeing and sledding, as well as numerous restaurants. Local experiences include horse riding, golf, hiking and cycling trails, the volcano trail, thermal baths, the Vogelsberg Volcano Express, and carriage rides. Cleaning service is available for a fee.
