In the separate laundry room, guests of the vacation home have access to a washing machine and dryer, which can be used for a fee.

Facilities:
Welcome to the idyllically located Weingarten vacation home. There are three cozy vacation apartments here. The lovingly designed outdoor area, with its shared barbecue corner, invites you to relax and unwind. As a guest, you have access to the in-house sauna in the attic. Additionally, depending on availability, you’re welcome to use the in-house bicycles free of charge.
Nestled between the vastness of the Baltic Sea and the tranquil beauty of Lake Sellin lies the idyllic Baltic Sea resort of Baabe—a charming retreat on the Mönchgut Peninsula, perhaps the most picturesque part of the island of Rügen. Here, where the coast gives way to gentle dunes, where the thatched roofs of old fishermen’s cottages glimmer, and where the salty sea air blends with the scent of pine trees, your vacation begins the moment you arrive.
Baabe is a place that slows the pace—free from intrusive hustle and bustle, yet offering everything you need to recharge and let your mind wander. The fine-sand beach stretches for several kilometers, flanked by a protected dune landscape and a well-maintained beach promenade. Whether you’re sunbathing, taking a dip in the cool Baltic Sea, or strolling along the beach in the golden light of sunset—here, every moment becomes a little escape.
The lovingly restored seaside resort architecture lends the town a nostalgic charm. Small cafés, cozy restaurants, and family-run shops invite you to linger and enjoy yourself. Particularly popular: traditional smoked fish straight from the fisherman, served fresh off the boat and tasting of the sea and home.
Nature lovers and active vacationers will find a true paradise in Baabe. The adjacent UNESCO Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve impresses with a unique variety of forests, Bodden landscapes, salt marshes, and rolling hills. Whether on foot, by bike, or on the water—there are many ways to explore the surrounding area. Popular destinations such as Granitz Hunting Lodge, the Sellin pier, or the artists’ village of Middelhagen are easily accessible.
A special highlight is the “Rasende Roland,” a historic steam locomotive that chugs leisurely through the countryside, evoking a sense of adventure and nostalgia—an experience not just for children.
Baabe is worth a visit any time of year. In summer, the sun and swimming beckon; in fall, the vibrant colors of the forests; and in winter, the crisp tranquility of the coast. And in spring, when nature awakens, Mönchgut shows its gentlest side.
Whether you’re traveling as a family, a couple, or alone—Baabe warmly welcomes you. Here you’ll find not just a place to stay, but a temporary sense of home. A place to settle in, take a deep breath, and come back to.
