The roadside village of Berkholz is located four kilometres east of Boitzenburg. The surrounding area of Berkholz has its Uckermark charm due to the undulating fields with their many "Sollen" (also known as "Bruchlöcher"), extensive wooded areas and smaller and larger lakes. The neighbouring town of Boitzenburg is home to Boitzenburg Castle and other places of interest. There are signposted cycling and hiking trails for longer excursions. There are many opportunities for swimming and fishing in the Uckermark Lake District.

We lovingly converted our old forge into a holiday home between 2021 and 2023. The historical, handcrafted history of the forge was respected. The holiday home has a living space of 52 m², an outdoor bathroom and an indoor bathroom. The holiday home includes a fully equipped kitchen with dining area. In the living room there is a dining area, sofa bed, seating area and TV. The large entrance area has a wood-burning stove for cosy warmth, electric heating is also available. The property has its own garden with sunbathing lawn, covered terrace, barbecue and seating area with fire bowl. The property borders directly on a pond ( Der Schmiedepfuhl ) where numerous animal species are at home. Regularly for 2 persons, an extra bed is possible.
