Upstairs Apartment in Husen’s Altenautal, Near Paderborn

Our holiday apartment is located on the edge of the 1,200-inhabitant village of Husen. In 2020/21, we renovated the 1945-built house using lime plaster and natural paints. Electricity comes from our own photovoltaic system.



If you’re seeking peace and relaxation, treat yourselves to a break in our holiday apartment in the Altenautal, just 20 km from Paderborn. The Altenautal is known for its many cycling and hiking trails, such as the Sintfeldhöhenweg, Almeradweg, and more. On hot days, the Altenautal natural swimming pool in nearby Atteln offers refreshment. Other attractions include the LWL Monastery Dalheim, the pilgrimage site Kleinenberg with its Marian chapel and Lourdes grotto, and the medieval deserted village Blankenrode with the Hörwald. The cities of Paderborn, Kassel, and Bielefeld are easily reached via the A33 and A44 motorways.



The 65 m² apartment is on the first floor and accommodates 2–3 guests. The bright living room features a wood-burning stove for extra warmth and comfort in winter. The well-equipped kitchen and cozy dining area have everything you need for a relaxing stay. In the bedroom, you’ll sleep soundly in a historic bed; beds can be separated if desired. A third guest can use the sofa bed in the living room. The modern bathroom offers a few special touches.



Our organic dairy farm with a small farm shop is 140 m away. There, you can buy our own honey, milk from our cows, fresh eggs, as well as tea, spices, potatoes, onions, and regional organic beer.
