Meropi, an Arcadian princess, was wed to the Messenian king Cresphontes. After her husband and two of their three sons were murdered, the killer forced her to marry him. With cleverness, she saved her son Aepytus, who later avenged his family and became king. Intelligence is the weapon of the weak and always prevails.
