the big house

It was wonderful to have the whole family together for our son's wedding. The only thing that could have made it better was adding another bathroom. But we were fine and it is a beautiful house with an amazing view.

Beautiful location

This property was perfect for our family to meet for Christmas. It has a spacious common room and a kitchen amenable for a crowd. The manager and owner were very responsive with a couple of issues upon check in. It's a little dated from the online description, but has plenty of space. Overall a great experience.

Great Property in Marin for Family gathering

Overall this is a great property. I had 19 guests stay here to attend my son's wedding in Deer Park Villa in Fairfax, CA. MY guests loved the place. Very spacious, excellent views. Doe to rains they could not entirely enjoy. For such a large home, with the incessant rains, my guest did not complain of cold. The heating system worked really well. The property was clean upon check in which was easy. Convenient to all the sights. One small issue was, in the entry level bath room, the sink seemed to drain slowly. This may need to be looked into by the property manager. Otherwise, no issues. I would definitely book this property again for a family gathering.

Perfect for my team offsite

This property was perfect for our team offsite of 14 people! The great room was huge and dynamic - we were able to move furniture around to accommodate our meetings and presentations, team dinner, a cocktail class, and even a team yoga session! The deck and its views were great for fresh air breaks between sessions. Anna, the property manager, was super responsive, and the process of getting vendors approved through her was relatively easy. Some might say that the fixtures and furniture were a touch outdated, but you honestly will not be able to beat the price of this large and accommodating venue. Everything was immaculately cleaned, and I loved that the kitchen provided more than enough NICE dinnerware for all of our meals. My team was super happy with the experience. Thank you Anna for your hospitality. We hope to be back again! :)

Significant deferred maintance

The location and view are fabulous. It is a big house with lots of sleeping options. The dishwasher didn't work well and leaked. The floor was warped by the dishwater due to on-going leaks. The heating system was not balanced. In one bedroom on the main floor, the furnace sounded like a jet engine and the heat was blown out of the vent at gale force. That bedroom was not usable as the temperature was 10 to 15 degrees warmer than the rest of main floor. The other bedroom on the main floor was also much warmer. The door to that room and the window had to be open to be able to sleep in it. A kitchen drawer was broken and not usable. A kitchen bar stool was broken also. It is a safety hazard and we were surprised that it was in the kitchen. It was quite cold in the downstairs bedrooms. The sliding glass patio door in the upstairs bedroom was very difficult to lock. There are a number of other maintenance issues at the house.

Fantastic House for our Girls Weekend!!

We stayed at Marin Vista House for a family girls weekend, and this house had plenty of space to accommodate our group of 17. Communication with the property managers was fantastic, they were very responsive when we had a few questions. The house is in a beautiful location with amazing views. Our itinerary included hiking in the redwoods, visitng Napa/Sonoma, and activities in downtown SF so this was a perfect central spot between everything we wanted to do. Would definitely recommend this property to others!

Family Wedding

This was the perfect location and everything in the home was exactly as described. The house was perfect for our rehearsal dinner, views were incredible, there was plenty of space and plenty of plates, glasses, and cutlery. If you are a chef, bring your own knives and platters - not enough of these. We had a great time nonetheless.

Perfect Location for San Francisco and Sonoma Visit

I booked this house because of the location and the number of beds. I was taking my family on a trip for my 60th birthday celebration along with my sister's 55th and my sister in law's 50th. There were 11 adults and 5 children. The rooms were wonderful and everyone had a bed to sleep in. The views from the terraces are amazing! The location is perfect if you are going to San Francisco and nearby towns - Stinson Beach, Berkeley, Sonoma, Napa...

Perfect

This home was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend. It was comfy, clean, and had nice open areas perfect for congregating. The house was well equipped with cooking and grilling utensils. The only slight inconvenience we had was a neighbor coming to the property to scold us about parking; however based on the owner's parking guides and our own review of the City's street parking limitations and official maps, we knew we weren't violating any parking limitations. We tried our best to placate her anyway and moving the cars into a different configuration seemed to satisfy her. All of us were truly sad to leave this house come check-out. It did a wonderful job of creating a "home" for us that weekend. The hosts were easy to get in contact with as well!

Perfect for our Book Club get away!

We felt like we were away from it all! There was plenty of room for us to lounge with coffee in the mornings, sit around the table after our wonderful dinners, enough beds for everyone to be comfortable, and extra space for our puzzles & crafts! After returning from a walk up & down the hills we had a brief encounter with a neighbor who informed us we had too many cars (we only had 8) we moved 2 cars in to the garage to appease her. A lovely place for a large group!

Nice Retreat space for work

The house has a gorgeous view and is very accommodating to large groups. We felt very comfortable there and had all th immenities of home. The wildlife was very plentiful during our stay and if you wanted to drive down to the town for dinner, there was alot to choose from. The city was also a short drive and was easily accessed through the drive.

Everything was great! Super responsive host, and beautiful house for a group.

Our stay at this in-house was great. I absolutely recommend it to anyone with a large group. Plenty of outdoor and indoor space for people to spread out. Beautiful views, comfy beds, and fully equipped. The host was super responsive. We only had one issue (couldn’t find the coffee pot), which she resolved immediately by having someone drop one off. It was great. Thank you!!

Amazing!

We rented Anna's place for our wedding party for our wedding weekend, and it was perfect. Gorgeous views, beautiful and spacious rooms, and great location close to our venue. Anna was wonderful in communicating via email leading up to the weekend, which was very helpful. Would highly recommend!

Excellent venue for large family gathering

I rented the Marin Vista House for my significant other's 80th surprise birthday party. Our family of 19 included 2 toddlers and a baby. The comfortable bedrooms provided privacy for everyone while the spacious living room allowed ample space for us to spend time together without being crowded, and for the children to play. An especially nice touch was the fireplace, stocked with wood, which helped with ambience on a rainy day. The view from the wrap around decks was incredible, not just during the day but also for star gazing and a night cap with a cigar! A fully equipped kitchen made it fun to cook and easy for the caterer to do his magic. The house was located close enough for us to walk to the farmer's market in town on Saturday morning. All in all a memorable experience for the whole family!

Fabulous visit at Marin Retreat

My husband and I organized a weekend reunion of friends at the Marine Retreat. We had 11 people and couldn't have been more comfortable. Anna is extremely easy to get in touch with, but once we were there, we found the whole place stocked with everything we needed to enjoy the weekend to the fullest extent without ever needing to reach out.

Perfect house for a large group

We stayed in this home for a wedding and had the entire wedding party and their plus-ones staying in the home. It is the perfect house for a large group of people. We had 20 staying and everyone slept comfortably with no complaints. The great room that includes the living room, kitchen, and dining room is perfect for hosting so many people and it makes the home feel very spacious and open. The outdoor patios are great for relaxing and enjoying the amazing views. This house helped make the wedding weekend exceptional and the bride and groom were very grateful.

The house fit our family's need of a secluded get away vacation home. The house is amazing as described and more as in their website. The house was nice, spacious and very clean and set up to our needs for a group of 20. The view is amazing too. The rooms are large and we slept comfortably, have our own beds. We felt as if we were in our own house. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights and cooked all meals in their gourmet kitchen. It was well stocked with all the kitchen supplies that we need. Costco and other major supermarkets are nearby. We had a wonderful Christmas celebration. The manager Anna is very helpful and accommodating to our requests. Thank you.
