Lovely holiday experience

We, a family of 10 persons, spent a week in early October at this charming property and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The house and its surroundings offer everything for a relaxing family holiday, including a pool in a gorgeous mountain panorama, plus original and tasteful interior decoration. Maria del Carmen was very nice, helpful and easy to communicate with. Muchísimas gracias y hasta luego!

Beautiful finca close to Ubrique

As a couple, we wanted a spacious place to stay as part of a longer holiday in the Cadiz province - this was absolutely perfect, and we had a wonderful stay. Maria - our host - was incredibly helpful and kind (even cooking us a lovely meal on our final night!), and the house is well looked after with plenty of amenities in the kitchen and elsewhere (e.g. there's a dishwasher, washing machine, and two fridge-freezers should you need them). The garden in particular was idyllic, with spectacular mountain views and a big pool. Although we came in a heatwave, we found the house itself kept quite cool, and was a lovely respite in the peak heat of the afternoon, helped by having access to a couple of portable fans. Ubrique is very close by car and there are shops, cafes within easy driving distance. It's also a great base to explore other villages and towns in the region - including Grazalema, Arcos de la Frontera, Zahara de la Sierra. Also possible to travel slightly further afield - we arrived from Cadiz city and headed off to Seville for our return. Would highly recommend for either couples or families looking to visit this region!

Entorno natural agradable

No hemos alojado en agosto y la ubicación de la casa en plena naturaleza es espléndida, entre montañas y junto al río, aunque en verano, éste tiene poco caudal. Habría que mejorar el hecho de que han anulado las luces de la piscina, con lo que queda una amplia zona inutilizada por la noche. Los aspersores comenzaban a funcionar antes de las 21:00, en lugar de hacerlo durante la madrugada, lo que era molesto. La señora que que se encargaba de la casa, permaneció en la casa adyacente 4 de 7 noches, lo que supuso una pérdida de intimidad. En un primer momento nos informó de que serían sólo dos noches. EL wifi no funciona.

Fabulous Retreat

What a fabulous place to spend a week relaxing with friends and family. This rustic property is simply lovely. Lying by the pool with the backdrop of the mountains and the sound of local wildlife was exactly what we needed, and then you can finish your day sitting on the terrace sipping wine and plucking fresh grapes from the vines providing shade over head whilst cooking on the barbecue. The local town of Ubrique has everything you need and comes alive after 8pm, although if you are arriving late on a Saturday it is worth noting that none of the food shops/supermarkets are open on a Sunday. There is also no oven at the property except a microwave combi oven so expect to barbecue all of your meals - perfect for us! The listing also mentions 5 or 6 bedrooms but there are only 4 which was a shame as we had some teenagers who didn't want to share, but there are enough beds to go around so we made it work. Maria is extremely helpful and friendly and on hand for any questions you have and even gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy on our arrival! Thank you for a wonderful break.

Fin de semana perfecto

La casa es tal y como se ve en las fotos, aislada y en plena naturaleza. Zona de piscina amplia y bien cuidada. Por poner un pero, solo habia 8 hamacas y éramos 10, pero todo genial. Hay que llevar las toallas de casa, tanto de baño como de piscina. Repetiremos seguro!

Quiet, but in good company

A great place to be. We (family; 7 adults, 2 small kids) stayed here for a week (October 6th-13th 2019) and, thanks to the beautiful weather and surroundings, enjoyed the house and especially the pool every day. Maria is a good and competent host, always there to solve a problem, give tips or just to have a chat. The house is located well. Quiet, thick walls that prevent the heat from coming in. And: really dark at night, so you see a lot of stars and a bright shining moon. Ubrique is close by. Nice village, several groceries. So: why NOT come and visit Maria?

Grande maison idéale pour plusieurs familles qui souhaitent découvrir l'Andalousie

Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances à deux familles au molino de la Cruz. La maison est jolie, agréable, fonctionnelle et très propre, la piscine très bien entretenue est située dans un cadre verdoyant. La propriétaire est charmante et parle français. Ubrique (on y trouve deux supermarchés, des boucheries, une poissonnerie et une grande rue commerçante très animée) est bien placé au cœur des villages blancs et pas trop loin des grandes villes Séville, Jerez, Cadix ... Nous avons trouvé l'endroit idéal pour rayonner dans le riche patrimoine de l'Andalousie et profiter de son climat de rêve !

La casa esta ubicada en pleno valle muy cerca de Ubrique, a su lado pasa el rio, nos encantó.Es muy espaciosa, todo muy limpio, las camas comodisimas, salimos como nuevos.Disfrutamos mucho de su chimenea. Recomiendo para relax y desconexión

Estupendo fin de semana

La descripción de la casa es tal y cómo la vimos en el anuncio. Disfrutamos de un entorno inigualable en plena Sierra de Cádiz, donde pudimos descansar, disfrutar y desconectar. La casa está en perfectas condiciones, así como la piscina y el césped que la rodea. Trataremos de repetir el año que viene. Por último comentar que la dueña de la casa ha sido muy amable.

Bienvenidos al paraíso

El paraíso hecho realidad, es la única manera que encuentro de expresarlo. Hace tiempo que buscaba un sitio así, rodeado de naturaleza en estado puro, donde el alma respira al fin. El césped inmenso y la preciosísima piscina, una delicia para todos y en especial para los niños, que disfrutaron enormemente; el río, una maravilla; y la casa, perfecta, con ese sabor antiguo pero muy cómoda y con todas las facilidades. Volvería mañana mismo, ¡pero para quedarme!

¡Mejor que las fotos! Un sitio de ensueño. Las vistas desde la piscina hasta la montaña increíbles. Un lugar idílico. No se ve ni una casa colindante. Fuimos un grupo de familias y amigos de 8 a 80 años. Todos disfrutamos al tope, el jardin, los frutales, la piscina, senderismo, etc, etc. La dueña super amable.

"The house was just what ...

"The house was just what we wanted. Big and comfortable and quiet. The house was well set-up to cope with our big group. We were particularly pleased to find plenty of big pans and a hard-working coffee machine. It's a charming house, well restored. Not luxurious but very comfortable. I've scored 4 for amenities because the pool was empty (not important in March) and the chimney was blocked. Neither of these things detracted terribly from what was a perfect week."

"Vaste maison divisée en 2 logements (nous etions 14) dans un site tres agreable au bord d''un ruisseau avec une grande piscine. tres bon acceuil de la proprietaire qui parle francais. Ubrique est sur la route des villages blancs à 1 heure de route de Ronda et l on peut sans probleme se rendre dans la journée à Séville,Cadix, Tarifa ... au total: excellent sejour !!"

"Ideal setting with garden next to river layed out with fruit trees, view of mountains with occassional vultures, welcoming pool. 3km to Ubrique lively town with many leather shops, bars and restaurants. Excellent walking in national park well marked and easy to follow. Owner very helpful, made us all Gazpacho. Also offered to guide us to the Castillo de Fatima near by."

"Nous avons passé une trés agréable semaine à Ubrique .C'est un endroit trés calme et trés reposant. La piscine est superbe ! Surtout pensez à téléphoner en arrivant car le propriétaire n'est pas sur place et demandez un plan détaillé avant de partir. Nous sommes rentrés enchantés! "
