We stayed in Roy's villa for a weekend with an extended family to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday.
When we walked in, the place simply took our breath away. Every step around the property revealed a new special view, a tasteful decor, a grand piano from Vienna, patios and roses, horses running free and peacefully below in the fields. The place permeated with a sense of leisure, peace, and romance.
We cooked our meals in the kitchens, one inside, one outside on a patio with a pizza oven, we ate outside on a patio to the sound of the bubbling water from the fountain, we sat by the fire place in the evening, we took our walks through the fields and along the pastures. And, one evening we went to St. Helena for an unforgettable dinner, only a 20 minute ride.
The place is reminiscent of Tuscany, and a wonderful host, Roy, explained his family's Italian roots and the reason he built the house in the Tuscan style. It was so good to be taken care by Roy, he thoughtfully prepared for our stay and and made our stay very special.
Do I want to come back? Certamento!!!
