Nice family stay with lots of options for excursions

We had a very nice stay in summer 2024 and besides visiting the nearby showplaces such as Triberg, we also visited Europapark Rust and more. The flat is exactly as described and more than adequate for a family of four, thank you.

Excellent trip

We had a great time and the place was perfect. Great views and comfy beds and it was nice and warm. I had some work I had to do and the internet was very sloowwww but what can you expect haha. A great place you’ll love it.

Thanks for the nice review. Internet is usually 25Mbps as lines are analog. Our village has not discovered fiber internet yet. Hopefully they run the cable to our nice hideaway in the Black Forest. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Europe.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful location

Both the apartment and the location were perfect. The apartment had everything you needed, beds really comfy and the view from the balcony is beautiful. All communication was great. Lovely friendly people. The area is great, lots of great walks start close to the apartment and can reach all the day trip highlights. We would definitely return. Thanks

Great Experience

The Arpartment, the Communication with the Host, the caretaker Andrea, everything was just perfect. We got more then we ever expected. A fully modern equiped and clean flat in a great landscape. You can do a lot of daytrips in the surrounging area.

Fabulous view & location

Wonderful stay with family, beautiful area and lots to do. Apartment is nice but needs some maintenance. Disappointed to find shower door broken off on arrival and no attempt made to fix it despite reporting it. Resulted in 6 people using one bathroom and that one's shower head wasn't working properly. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Thanks for your comments. The lack of maintenance is overstated, probably only due to the shower door. You reported this loose shower door to our local team, and they came to investigate immediately. You stated to our team that the door would not be a problem for your stay (there is another shower room), so we find it strange that you now mention "no attempt made to fix it". Note that things occasionally break down, and we fix everything ASAP, but we can not find, order and install a shower door in the few days that you stayed... We are glad you otherwise had a pleasant stay. PS; the door is fixed.

Summer 2022 holiday in Schonwald

Thank you Eddy and Hilde for allowing us to stay in your wonderful apartment in Schonwald which we would recommend to anybody who wishes to visit the Black Forest. A 5 minute walk into the centre of the town which has some excellent restaurants, a fantastic open air swimming pool, superb walks and conveniently located for trips out to Triberg, Feldberg, Lake Titisee, Freiburg to name a few places. We had a superb 2 week holiday and already looking forward to our next visit. Neil, Jaime, Max and Erin

Nice apartment

We spent one week in April 2010 and we really enjoyed our stay in Schonwald. The apartment is located in a quiet area, is spacious, very well equipped and comfortable. We were very lucky with the weather and we visited Freiburg, Triberg, Titisee, St Peter, St Margen… But Schonwald also offers a lot of hiking paths to walk in the forest and discover the region. For instance we hiked during a 4 hours trip to see the source of the Danube river. I would certainly recommend this apartment to my friends or colleagues as I really had a great time in Schonwald. Peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings

We are a family of six including 4 teenagers who visited the apartment in August 2010. We were very pleased with the appartment which was exactly as described by the owners and we felt it was a spacious apartment which was perfectly clean . Eddy and Hilde were extremely helpful at all stages of the booking process and answered all our questions quickly and on our arrival Jurgen was on hand to help us settle in without any problems. Schonwald is a beautiful but quiet location. We enjoyed walking in the countryside on easy to follow marked paths. The Konus card was very useful, the free entry to the Triberg waterfalls nearly covered its cost. The buses are good but a car is necessary in our view because a journey to Freiburg for instance could take two and a half hours due to the connections. We found each resturant we went to be good value and within easy walking distance. Overall we had a great, relaxing holiday and would like to thank Eddy and Hilde for providing such a great apartment.

Fantastic holiday home - Excellent holiday

Having just returned from Schönwald im Schwarzwald, we cannot speak highly enough of our holiday experience! Excellent owners made communication a breeze and booking the holiday was easy. The apartment is fantastic with virtually every item you could need. We were still finding unfound cupboards with useful items in throughout the holiday (should you need them, the Weiss beer glasses are in the cupboard to the right of the TV!). With the exception of food, I cannot think that you would need to bring a single item with you (although we did just in case!). If you are arriving late on a Saturday, I would recommend you bring food supply (or at least essentials!) for the first 24 hours, as the shops are most definitely shut on a Sunday. There are a lot of stairs, as the apartment is on the top floor, although this did not deter our 4 year old or the 70 year old grandparents! The apartment has 2 large bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and 2 balconies on one level, then a further huge bedroom upstairs. The upstairs bedroom (and own bathroom) would be a great place to "hide" your teenage kids for the holiday, as it is equipped with its own tv / video / dvd etc. I would say that the top floor bedroom stairs proved too steep for the grandparents and also for our 4 year old daughter, but they were no problem for our 8 year old visitor, and we (in our 40s) were more than happy with them, even after sampling a few of the local beverages. I shoudl also mention, there are plenty of books, maps, guide books, games and dvd's to watch and our 4 year old particularly enjoyed the 2 baby dolls and cots she found for them! The apartment was very clean, and the local caretaker Heinz-Jurgen could not have been more friendly or amenable. The local restaurants were very good, particularly Rössle, try the pork in mushroom sauce! The local Italian is also very good. There is plenty to do locally, with Stöcklewald Tower being a great choice, along with the Triberg waterfalls, the toboggan ride (in Gutach), the local ski jump (frightening, even when you are not jumping!), the local open air pools, the in-house indoor pool, the Freilicht Museum (giving an insight as to why the hillside barns are just so big!).......the list goes on. We had incredible weather for the fortnight and thoroughly enjoyed our break, just a shame it had to come to an end!!

De ontvangst door Andrea was vriendelijk en we kregen een duidelijk uitleg hoe alles werkte. Appartement was zonnig, licht en erg schoon. Voldoende handdoeken en heerlijke boxspring bedden. Een prachtig uitzicht en op loopafstand van enkele restaurants.

Superbe appartement avec des lits de hautes qualités. Vue splendide. Schöne Wohnung

Der Aufenthalt war sehr schön - getrübt durch die Krankheit unseres Kleinsten (aber da kann niemand was dafür).Und auch getrübt durch das defekte Schwimmbad, auf das wir uns schon so gefreut hatten. Aber da kann auch niemand was dafür. Die Kommunikation mit den Eigentümern und der Hausverwaltung war sehr freundlich und bemüht.

War alles super, mega Ausblick.....Feuerwerk vom ganzen Ort von der Küche aus anzusehen. Was echt bitter war, das das Schwimmbad außer Betrieb war, was der eigentliche Grund war, uns für dieses Apartment entschieden zu haben.

Sonnige Tage in Schönwald

Wir hatten zu fünft (vier Erwachsene, eine Kleinkind) eine wunderbare Woche in dieser superschönen Wohnung. Die Aussicht ist unglaublich und auch in der Wohnung ist für jeden Komfort gesorgt. Für uns hat alles wunderbar gepasst und wir würden sehr gerne mal wiederkommen.

sehr schönes Apartment mit tollem Blick

Schönes Apartment- sehr hell, gut aufgeteilt und ausgestattet. Toll auch die beiden Balkone mit Blick in die Ferne. Man kann direkt von der Wohnung aus schöne Wanderungen unternehmen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Jederzeit wieder, wunderschöne saubere Wohnung

Wunderschön eingerichtete, bemerkenswert saubere Ferienwohnung. Ein besonderes Highlight ist das Indoor- Schwimmbad. Der Aussenpool, der auf den Bildern gezeigt wird, gehört nicht zur Anlage, sοndern ist das ortsansässige Naturschwimmbad, das ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen ist. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

sehr schöne Wohnung und herzlicher Empfang

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in Schönwald. Die Wohnung von Eddy und Hilde ist sehr geräumig, hat zwei grosse Terrasssen mit Blick auf die Lanschaft und ist super ausgestattet. Das Schwimmbad ist wirklich klein, im Keller und nicht sehr einladend, aber das war kein Problem, da wir keine grossen Schwimmer sind. Der Empfang durch Hans-Jürgen und Andrea war sehr nett und herzlich, und die beiden waren immer da um Fragen zu beantworten oder zu helfen. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt!

Viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, auch bei schlechtem Wetter

Wir wurden von Frau Andrea Lehmann nett empfangen. Die Ferienwohnung war für 6 Personen sehr geräumig. Wir fanden eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche vor. Da es während unseres einwöchigen Aufenthaltes auch Regentage gab, haben wir die Sauna und das Schwimmbad häufig genutzt. Für die Kinder war das kleine Becken (ca. 8x4m) völlig ausreichend. Außerdem fanden sie ihr eigenes "Reich" unter dem Dach toll. Wir können das Appartement nur weiterempfehlen!
