My family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay for a long weekend away from Paris. The property is very well maintained and is well situated for exploring the Normandy area. It's great for small kids in particular, as you have a private yard with a playground and sand pit. In addition, the accommodation is located on a farm with animals, which my children enjoyed observing. My only feedback for the owners would be to make clear on the website the additional charges for sheets, towels, electricity, and water usage. Unless I'm mistaken, this information is not detailed on the site, so people may be surprised about the extra charges. Overall, it's a very quiet, family-friendly option for those looking for a short getaway from Paris or those looking to explore the region. I highly recommend!

Wonderful gite!

Dear Claire Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful gite! The children loved their bedroom and being able to see the cows and chickens each morning. We had a wonderful week exploring the countryside and the beach. We found the gite had everything we needed, although a few dishwasher tablets and a spare bin bag would have been useful on arrival, nothing a quick trip to local supermarket couldn't solve though! The main bedroom was lovely, it's such an interesting building! The top bedroom was awesome, the children had great fun playing up there and exploring the garden. The noise from the farm was no issue, and having the baby cows come up to the kitchen window was enchanting! All in all we had a great time, it was easy to get into Rouen for shopping and restaurants, and half an hour to the beach for some sun. Visiting Vueles-les-Roses is a must, thanks for the tip Claire! Mixed views

Our experience at the Gites du Colombier was mixed. The property is beautiful, quiet, and has helpful hosts who provide local activity information. It’s an ideal place to stay. The nearby town of Tôtes is charming, with excellent dining options like La Vieille Auberge, Au comptoir gourmand, and Restaurant Le Normandy, all of which we highly recommend. However, the website listing is inaccurate. Features mentioned were absent, leading to additional costs. For example, the website shows an ‘above-ground’ pool, but there was none. Wifi is available in the owners’ home, 100 meters away, so we had none. The electric car charging port is described as ‘on-site’ but is actually a commercial point 2 km away. The website claims a nearby river and beach for waterskiing, but the nearest beach is over 40 km away, and we found no river. We were charged extra for towels and bedlinen and had to make our own beds when we arrived, and then 50 for cleaning for a four-night stay. Before checkout, we received a bill for electricity and water. While some chambres d’hotes charge extra for services, this isn’t common in the UK, and none of these charges were mentioned on the website. Vrbo should ensure accuracy, as this listing isn’t. We would have highly recommended the accommodation if it had been as listed.

We also make sure that distances to nearby amenities and leisure activities are clearly communicated. Specifically, it is clearly stated: * Electricity point 1 km away (in the village) * Private swimming pool open from mid-June to September * Optional charges for bed linen (€10/person/stay) and towels (€5/person/stay). * Electricity and water charges to be paid at the end of your stay. * Beach 35 km away Regarding the cleaning costs, the amount indicated on Vrbo is 75 €, we have asked you 50 € ! In addition, we did not require a deposit of €300, contrary to what is indicated on the platform. We phoned the restaurant to book you a table for Sunday lunch (free service). As far as cleaning costs are concerned, the amount indicated on Vrbo is €75, whereas we asked you to pay €50! What's more, we didn't ask for a €300 deposit, contrary to what is indicated on the platform. We phoned the restaurant to book you a table for Sunday lunch (free service). You told us in an email after your stay that you travelled a lot around the world. Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft, wunderbar für Familien

Wir durften 2 Wochen im Taubenschlag verbringen. Die Unterkunft ist außergewöhnlich, die Kühe und Kälbchen grasen direkt hinter dem Haus. Das Haus hat einen großen nicht einsehbaren Garten und ist ideal für (aber nicht nur) Familien. Der Pool bietet an heißen Tagen eine willkommene Abkühlung. Die Lage ist perfekt um die Normandie in alle Richtungen zu erkunden. Das Haus war super sauber und perfekt eingerichtet, die Vermieter sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich aber zugleich unaufdringlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden ubs lange an diesen schönen Urlaub erinnern!

Petit coin de paradis dans la campagne normande

Un super week-end plein de charme avec une amie et nos 4 enfants. Ils ont adoré la superbe chambre avec 4 lits sous le toit du colombier. Logement atypique au coeur d'une magnifique propriété. La propriétaire est charmante et de très bons conseils. Nos enfans et nous sommes ravis de notre séjour.

Dépaysant !

L'aspect extérieur du gîte est déjà très agréable mais l'intérieur a été aménagé avec beaucoup de goût. Un magnifique étage sous le toit du colombier où les poutres apparentes et l'aménagement en font un vrai refuge mais aussi un endroit propice pour rêver. L'étage intermédiaire et le rdc sont également très bien aménagés et, malgré un temps maussade, le gîte est un véritable cocon d'où on n'a pas envie de repartir. Environnement calme et une belle vue sur la campagne alentour. Accueil très chaleureux de la propriétaire et propreté irréprochable du gîte ! Sans compter un équipement au top ! Bref, un arrêt incontournable si vous êtes dans le secteur ! Olive

Un accueil chaleureux et sympathique, un gîte original très bien équipé et bien entretenu. Un magnifique jardin calme et bucolique, merci pour le bac à sable et le toboggan, petit bonheur de nos enfants. Une annonce conforme en tous points. Très agréable séjour

Tout était parfait pour ce week end à rallonge du 08 mai … le soleil au rendez vous durant les 4 jours et un cadre très agréable. Merci a Anne pour son accueil chaleureux, ses conseils et sa sympathie. Séjour relaxant

Ce fut un séjour très agréable. Claire et Phillippe ont été très serviables. Les enfants ont adoré les jouets, les balançoires, la piscine, les animaux de la ferme et les tracteurs. Je recommanderais cet gite à tous ceux qui recherchent un séjour relaxant.

Unieke locatie in een mooie streek

We hebben genoten van onze vakantie in deze rustige omgeving. Het was fijn om de koeien en andere dieren op de boerderij rondom ons te hebben. Het was een unieke ervaring voor ons om de kalfjes geboren te zien worden. Het huisje was heel volledig voorzien van alles wat we nodig hadden. Het diende ook als goede uitvalsbasis om de streek te verkennen. We hebben goed kunnen genieten van het zwembad, zeker met de zomerse temperaturen. Claire heeft ons vriendelijk verwelkomt. Ze gaf waardevolle tips over de streek, en gaf ons ook de ruimte en privacy om ons eigen ding te doen. Als je houdt van een rustige, unieke locatie, zou ik niet twijfelen. Kleine opmerkingen: - de wifi blijkt niet in het huisje zelf aanwezig te zijn, maar aan het hoofdgebouw. Hou hier rekening mee, moest je muziek of een film voor 's avonds willen kunnen streamen. - er is een hond aanwezig op het domein. Deze is vriendelijk, maar wel heel enthousiast. Ons zoontje was er wat bang van.

Magnifique endroit. Colombier très bien aménagé.

Endroit très calme, bucolique, Bien situé entre Seine et mer. Le Colombier est décoré avec goût. Très bien sécurisé pour les jeunes enfants. Nous y avons passé d'excellentes vacances.

Séjour très agréable et reposant en famille

Nous avons passé un weekend très reposant en famille dans ce gîte fabuleux! Très belle déco, grand jardin pour profiter des beaux jours avec les enfants. Tout est bien pensé pour accueillir familles avec enfants en bas âge. Un grand merci à Claire pour son hospitalité et pour la visite de la ferme!

C'est toujours très agréable de profiter d'un moment de repos dans le jardin au soleil dans les transats ainsi que de découvrir les belles balades aux alentours du gîte.

Un lieu calme, accueillant et chaleureux

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en famille. L'endroit est très agréable. Les enfants ont pu voir les animaux de la ferme (Vaches, lapins, poules, canards, oies, chèvre). Les échanges que nous avons eu avec Claire ont été riches d'enseignements et de découverte sur le lieu!

Magnifique

Magnifique séjour à la campagne et à la fois proche de la mer. Le gîte est très bien aménagé, il y tout ce que vous pouvez avoir besoin pour le temps de vos vacances. Les propriétaires habitent la maison de la ferme, l’endroit est très propre. Je recommande cette très bonne adresse.

Very nice and peaceful location

The property sits on a working farm at the end of a quiet lane in a small hamlet. The setting is very rural but being on the farm is interesting as the free range cows surround the property and during our week we saw the entire harvest process in the fields behind. The property is clean and tidy and has basically all you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are on hand if you need them but are not intrusive, other than a wave as you drive past. Despite being and feeling rural there is good and easy road access so you can get to both Dieppe and Rouen in 30mins. There are other things to do fairly close by including theme parks, animal parks, and walking/cycling trails. If you’re prepared to drive then the Normandy beaches are about 1.5hrs away but on easily accessible roads. However, along the coast from Dieppe there are other lovely seaside fishing villages and beaches worth a visit. It’s a pleasant and relaxing place to stay.
