We enjoyed a wonderful 4-day stay in this quaint home; Cristiano and Kieko were super hosts and welcomed us with a supply of yummy snacks and drinks, made a reservation for us at the favourite and busy pizzeria, and even drove us around a little to acquaint is with some hiking trails and swimming spots. The home is well equipped with laundry machine, two comfortable beds and a lovely outside terrace for two. Everything worked and the hosts were attentive to every need and made us feel extremely welcomed.
A car is definitely needed to access the home about 10 minutes above Massa. This home made a perfect launching ground to visit the Cinque Terra towns, and we took the 30-minute drive to La Spezia to begin our Cinque Terra tour on boat for the day. We also visited the working marble quarry above Carrara, swam in the River Frigido (aptly named) with its marble beds, and hiked along the ridge of the Gothic Line of WWII for a spectacular view of the Mediterranean.
We highly recommend this place as an affordable and quaint space a speck off the beaten path. Thanks, Cristiano and Kieko (and friendly dog, Gina)!
