Wish we could have stayed longer

Our stay at Paradise Beach House was fantastic and exceeded all our expectations. It all started with great communication with the owner and the property management. They were able to answer all our questions before and during the trip in a timely fashion. We (me, wife and 2 kids) arrived around 8pm christmas day and Tribos had someone at the house to let us in, give us a tour and provide us keys. This person also helped us with our bags and parking, which is across the river in town (very convenient). Tribos also called restaurants for us as we drove up from Salvador airport to find out what was open on xmas night. The property is more beautiful than the pictures. It was all lit up when we arrived and provided a great welcome. The tower is a great feature and allows for a great view of the ocean in one direction and the tree tops of Imbassai in the other. The location is superb with easy beach access right next to the house. Once on the beach, one direction are 4 great barracas and the other is the river's end. There are daytime dining option right next to the house and daytime/evening options right across the river, up the river and a short walk up the main street through town. Imbassai is a fantastic, small beach town that felt shared by tourists and locals alike. Did not feel overrun or crowded. It was very tranquil and easy to relax. It was a great place to spend time and use as a home base for day trips to Praia do Forte, Salvador and other great nearby beaches. We had the benefit of our stay (downstairs) overlapping with the stay of the owner (upstairs). He provided us with great tips about where to go and best ways to get there. We also appreciated the mid-stay cleaning he offered us. Very gracious. We had no issues with the property. Plumbing, washing machine, internet and kitchen all worked well. Place is so well decorated. Also appreciated the water and fruit that awaited us. Great verandas and sitting areas. The only problem was being conflicted about maximizing our time at such a great house or going to the beach and seeing the sights. I guess not a bad problem to have...hope to visit again soon. Thank you for being great hosts.

Mixed feelings

The house itself is beautiful and well located.The views from the tower are stunning.The gardens are lovely and the vegetation around the house is gorgeous. The area is nice and quiet. However, we had mixed feelings about it and I'd like to be as fair as possible about this review. It was great to be so close to the beach especially because we had 3 children with us (nine people in total). The house is spacious but has a strange lay out and is in need of attention. The water pressure in all toilet cisterns was weak and also in all the showers, except for the shower upstairs which was excellent. Some of the door handles kept falling off. It wasn't possible to lock some of the bathroom doors for privacy. None of us stayed in the outside cabin. The lighting inside the cabin was very poor; there was no ceiling light, only some very dim lights. Two of us (aged 15 and 20) slept in the room downstairs that has no direct access to the main house. We had to give them the backdoor keys. This room was in a terrible condition and should not have been made available. There were signs of water infiltration in the walls and a strong smell of dump. We felt sorry for letting the boys there but there was no other way as they felt that staying in the cabin would be worse. We had an adult and a child in each of the two rooms that are actually inside the house. The bathroom of one of rooms has a door that leads to the utility area and can't be closed. They placed a tall fridge in front of it but the door remains a bit ajar as it can't actually be locked. I stayed in the separate flat upstairs with my two children (age 18 and 11). We all slept in the same bed and not that well. There was a spare single bed/sofa in the living room upstairs but no curtains in the many glass doors/windows in there and the air conditioner was in the bedroom. We also had problems with flickering lights on the veranda and in the tower. The light in the tower could never be switched off and flickered all day and night. I think the wiring needs to be looked at. The gentleman who greeted us with the keys was very nice and helpful. We were grateful that there was mineral water to drink when we arrived and we reciprocated by leaving some there. We used the kitchen downstairs which was small but well equipped. It would have been nice to have some floor mop or cloth in case anyone spilled anything on the floor. Overall, it's a good house which has the potential to be much better.

Een lot uit de loterij

Het huis ligt daar waar je het niet verwacht:tussen het riviertje en het strand verborgen in het groen.Huis erg goed ingericht met alles wat je nodig hebt.Ron en Sander,de huiseigenaren was geen moeite te klein om het naar je zin te maken.Wij hadden het geluk om bijna iedere dag bezoek te krijgen van schattige aapjes(Tamarinen),die hun bananenschijfjes kwamen halen. Verder kun je heerlijk buiten zitten op het terrasof liggen in de hangmatten.Strand is eindeloos lang;je kunt eruren lopen of je gaat ergens ziten en een heerlijk koud biertje of cai perina drinken.Kortom wij hebben genoten en als je een auto hebt kun je van alles en nog wat ondernemen.O.a. is de historische binnestad van Salvador een bezoekje waard.Kortom wij hebben genoten en de lokale supermarkten zijn goed gesorteerd.Ook zijn er genoeg restaurantjes.Ron en Sander,jammer dat onze vakantie voorbij is,maar wie weet,komen we weer eens een keertje.Hartelijke groeten,Annette en Carlo.

Wir waren im August für zwei Wochen in diesem wunderbaren Haus und waren rundum zufrieden. Das Haus ist sehr schön eingerichtet und bietet alles was man braucht. Wie in der Beschreibung zu lesen, liegt das Haus direkt hinter der Düne am Meer. Von dem Turm hat man eine tolle Aussicht auf den Atlantik; mit etwas Glück kann man sogar Buckelwale beobachten. Das Haus liegt wirklich sehr ruhig und dennoch zentral. Die reichlich vorhandenen Hängematten auf der Terrasse und dem Turm sorgten für einen entspannten Aufenthalt am Haus. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können es unbedingt weiter empfehlen! Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war immer zeitnah und sehr nett.

Een fijn verblijf

We hebben een erg leuke week gehad in het strandhuis. De boeking verliep vriendelijk en makkelijk. Het huis is gezellig ingericht en heeft een mooie grote verranda met hangmatten en een grote eettafel. De derde slaapkamer is alleen via buiten bereikbaar, dat vonden wij met een gezin met kinderen niet erg handig. Het huis ligt achter een grote hoge duin met daarachter het mooie strand van Imbassai. Bij het huis heb je geen zicht op de zee, maar in de hoge toren die bij het huis hoort wel. Tijdens ons verblijf hadden we helaas wel veel last van muggen, mieren en kakkerlakken. Imbassai is een klein dorpje met nog weinig toerisme. Er zijn een paar restaurantjes en strandtenten op het strand waar je lekker kan eten. Wij hebben erg lekker pizza en vis gegeten bij het restaurant meteen aan je rechterhand als je de brug over gaat naar het dorpje (met de plastic tafelkleden met pizza erop). Aan de rand van het dorp is een grote en goede supermarkt. Op het strand kan je ook surfles nemen. Wij hebben les genomen bij de aardige jongen die meteen links op het strand een surfschool heeft. De bevolking is erg vriendelijk en maakt graag een praatje. In de omgeving zijn vele mooie stranden. Santo Antonio vonden wij erg mooi. Een verlaten strand waar je komt na een mooie wandeling door de duinen. Ook Praia do Forte is een leuk, en erg toerstisch, dorpje. Hier kan je ook mooi snorkelen. De autotocht naar Lagoa Azul (ruim een uur) is erg mooi. Een mooie wandeling door een natuurgebied met een mooi meer. Het is wel erg moeilijk te vinden, maar de bevolking helpt je graag.

Simply the best in Imbassai right at the beach

Ron's house has a perfect location right behind the beach. Imbassai is a lovely little, sleepy and quiet town. Here you can sleep undisturbed by any noises at night or in the morning. It is a real Paradise Beach House. The living and dining room are open to all sides and you can always have a fresh brise inside. There are two terracces: One with a big wooden dining table and another with sofa and hammock. All the bedrooms have aircon and big doublebeds and each of them an extra bathroom and hot water. But the best is the outside shower with sun-heated-water. The kitchen has all stuff you need to cook and serve food. But there are very nearby good restaurants with good prices. I ordered always my Caipirinha at home before I went out eating. The beach is miles long and you have very few people on the beach. But still there are a couple of good foodstalls around. For those who love it quiet as in a bathtub, there is a little lagoon where all the children can play in flat absolutly calm waters. The house itself is away from the road. You cross a little bridge over a creek until you reach it by a 150m footwalk. So you can be sure that there are no cars and bikes at your windows. In case you come without a car like us it is also no problem: there are many Mototaxis and also regular taxis that can drive you around in the area to the neighbouring villages or to Salvador which is a 1,5 hours drive away only. Amazing place !

Fortunately, the house is the same as described. Security, rooms and facilities in general are very nice also. Parking is really close to the house and the location close to the beach transform the house in a very nice rent investment for your vacation.

Paraíso en Imbassai

La ubicación es inmejorable, en la playa y muy cerca de mercados, restaurantes y bares. Zona muy tranquila, playas amplias, de río y mar. La casa es muy cómoda, las habitaciones tienen baño privado y aire acondicionado, la cocina está bien equipada y en general hay todo lo necesario para una estadía muy placentera. Fuimos muy bien atendidos. ¡Muy recomendable experiencia! Definitivamente para repetir.

Ficamos hospedados nessa deliciosa casinha, decorada com muito bom gosto, e tivemos uma atenção especial do proprietário e seus ajudantes, que tudo fizeram para que nossa estadia fosse a mais confortável possível. A casa fica no melhor local da região.Um paraíso para quem não quer badalações, apenas sossego. Voltarei com certeza. Recomendo!

"non lasciatevela sfuggire la vacanza ad Imbassai!!!!! wonderful. La casa è in un''oasi della natura tra l''oceano ed il fiume ad Imbassai dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato. La casa accogliente per dormire e per la doccia....un po'' meno la cucina, ma non abbiamo mai dovuto cucinare perchè intorno trovi tutto. a pochi passi (1 minuto a piedi) c''è la splendida spiaggia dove ci sei tu e altre 3 persone. Gli abitanti del paese sono gentili e discreti e si gira in tutta sicurezza e poi se volete vedere il vero Brasile affidatevi a Danieu. Ci ha accompagnato x tutta la vacanza portandoci dove ci consigliava di andare. Ne è valsa la pena visitare e conoscere questo meraviglioso angolo di paradiso. lo consiglio vivamente: tranquillità, bellezza, mare e brasile!!!"

"Imbassai est un village encore très authentique, la plage est magnifique et la maison parfaite pour s''immerger dans ce petit paradis. Nous étions avec nos enfants de 6 et 9 ans et avons partagés avec eux le bonheur de nourrir les petits singes sur notre terrasse au petit-déjeuner et de s''extasier devant les tortues dans la mer. Etape idéal pour se ressourcer après quelques jours à Salvador."

"The location of this hou...

"The location of this house was ideal - so close to beach, probably in reality about 60 paces from standing looking at a magnificent beach that seemed to go on forever - it was that close. The beach was awesome, fantastic views and restaurants to enjoy but the sea here can be very rough. The house was cozy, cool in the day and had everything that you needed to self cater (note there is no oven). No air con but plenty of fans around the place to use. Large sheltered veranda out the back which was great if the beach got windy which it did a couple of times. Within a 2 min walk of the main square (when I say main it is very small!) and 5 minutes walk from the larger restaurants. Imbassai is called a resort but to be honest it’s very quiet (we were there is Oct 2010) and small scale which was great for us. If you want something more rural and wild, away from the clinical Praia da Forte, then Imbassai is for you."
