We just finished our annual extended family vacation. We are a large group of 22 members, across three generations. This house worked wonderfully for us. A lovely, large log cabin, with 9 bedrooms and beautiful rustic furnishings. The owners are very friendly and easy to work with.
The house has plenty of places to interact with other family members or to have some quiet time to yourself. The kids loved the ping pong table on the ground floor.
The long table on the screened in porch was perfect for our large group dinners and board games. The lake is pristine, with a small, but terrific sandy beach. Near the shore the water is shallow and perfect for our younger children. There is a floating dock where the water is deeper, which our teens and pre teens loved jumping off of. There is a canoe and a kayak we were able to use and plenty of life vests.
The house is three levels, so there are stairs to each floor and down to the lake, which was fine for most of us, but a little difficult for others. Cell reception is limited, but there is wi-fi.
We enjoyed visiting the town of Old Forge about 20 minutes away. Lots of cute shops, ice cream shops, mini golf, movie theatre, restaurants, super market, etc. We went to dinner at the White Lake Inn, which is 2 minutes from the house, as they could accommodate our large group. It has a casual pub atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the owner was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Overall this was a great vacation spot, which we would highly recommend to others.
