Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very nice. The only problem we encountered was not having toast for breakfast. The toaster was stored on top of the cabinets where we could not reach it. Not able to climb up on the dining room chair and there was no step stool. The road up to the cabin is pretty steep and there were 2 large pot holes, one on the left and one of the right about 50 ft apart that had to be dodged. Finding they were there while focusing on finding the cabin was very jarring.The steep walk up/down the road to find the limited grassy areas for our dog wasn't fun. Needed a walking stick to make sure I didn't fall.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin description said there was two bedrooms on the main level. This was very far from the truth. There was only 1 bedroom on the main level. We had two separate parties in our group that needed ground floor bedrooms. It was also lacking soap in multiple bathrooms. The cheap sheets wouldn’t stay on the bed. Also it said there was room for 3 cars in the driveway, this was also untrue. We were barely able to fit 2 cars. Overall, that cabin was not worth the money we paid.

I would like to give some feedback for improvements, there weren’t enough towels for both the hot tub and showers, and when washing the towels that were available the dryer takes hours to get the towels dry. Also the bathtub jets need cleaned, I’m assuming they just aren’t used very often, but when running a bath for my toddler there was a lot of gunk in the water from the jets

However, the property is dated, frustrated that we were not able to use the home theater since we couldn’t ever get it to connect, difficult to use pool table due to the room size being too small, no green space on the property for the dog to use bathroom, the queen size bed in the game room felt dirty and not a good option for our guest...so they opted for the couch and struggled to sleep due the freezer constantly making noise and the kitchen sink kept dripping, coffee table had damage on corners, the floor from upstairs bathroom to bedroom is in bad shape, and no furniture on the front porch. Overall, we were disappointed compared to the previous property we booked in February (lovvved it) and given it was roughly the same cost. We will not book this property again nor recommend it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely enjoyed our stay! Absolutely beautiful spacious cabin with one of the best views in the area! The drive up to the cabin is steep with some gnarly potholes so be cautious. We drove in with a crew cab long bed truck and it was a little tight fitting for a large truck like that but we knew how to navigate it amd it's best to pull forward and back into your parking space 😀 all minor things if youre prepared! But the cabin itself was gorgeous and we were able to bring our little Frenchie with us who had the time of his life there too! Elk Springs is amazing with communication and has some of the best, if not the best, customer service Ive dealt with in a long time. Thank you for the memories! 5☆ in EVERY way possible!

Breathtaking Views - Terrible

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the worse cabin in my 30 years of coming to the Smokies. First the entrance to resort is so unkept. The cabin has not been kept up either. Soon as I walked in smell was terrible. Coffee was all over counter and spilled all down cabinets and on floors. Floors not swept or mop. Stove and utilities not clean stove top was not even cleaned. Utilities had grease and dirt on. Every sink dripping or running constantly. Everything was dirty not dust at all. I started itching soon as I walked in. Bedding was terrible actually u could see thru the old sheets. When I looked closer cobwebs going two feet up the wall 4 inches away from the wall. Kitchen chairs full of dust and dried on food. Kitchen cabinets full of dust. The hot tub didn’t work. Grill was terrible. I was ready to leave as soon as I got there we actually left earlier I would not stay in this filthy place. I spent 318. A night on this place . Terrible the rugs were filthy the carpet going to movie room full of dirt so bad it made a black spot all the way down. I will never stay at Elksprings again. I will go back to the resort I normally stay at. This cabin and grounds was like no one had been keeping them up at all. So unhappy and disappointed I was looking so forward to this trip. When I saw cobwebs that bad it was over for me. Don’t stay here at all. They had their chance to clean and they didn’t . I would give it a 0. Funny how all reviews was 5 stars but not true. I truly believe since there not a office to report too , they are just taking your money. Don’t stay here at all. I walked out on 3 rd night.

It would have been nice to know there was only parking for one vehicle. We had to park one of our trucks half in the very steep road. It meant jumping down 2 ft while holding the door up to get out.

The hot tub and other tubs were not cleaned u could see the dirt the couch had something spilled on it the movie theater directions were incorrect. We had a sit and wait for someone to come finish cleaning and then come again to show us how to use the movie theater because the instructions were wrong and incorrect. The internet was not working so that had to be fixed.The breathtaking view was at the front door..The views from the decks were blocked by over grown trees.

In the central bathroom the jets in the tub had not been cleaned out and when initiated black soot came out of them. Down stairs in the hottub area had only one light on back porch. It needs more lighting. Actually it was scary. Also on main floor, rails should be placed in shower and commode for elderly to access. That is the only things that were not to our liking.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was generally clean but needed a good deep clean. The theater seats were dirty and dusty (don’t believe these were cleaned), thick dust on lamps and pictures over bed as well as thick dust and a lot of cobwebs on the ceiling fans above beds and in family room. I reported this along with other non-clean areas and they did offer to come and correct (which I declined as mentioned it was generally clean, was just notifying them so they could give some attention before next guests; I understand everyone’s idea of “clean” is different). The hot tub was not heating and they did come same day to fix. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Beds are very squeaky but generally comfortable.. The cabin seems dated and needs some better lighting - it is quite dark going to game area/theater room and hot tub. Carpet steps to this lower level area are filthy. The pictures may be older as it isn’t all same furniture or placement.

So many people come to our cabin because they couldn't locate there cabin number. Cleaning could have been better. The microwave was not cleaned it had burnt stuff in it. Not sure the last time the hot tub was empty and scrubbed out. I slipped on slime when I got in. Which I got right back out, that was disappointing. Dryer took to long to dry a small load of laundry.

Fireplace didn’t work for the entire visit even with 2 service calls from the property management company. The steep terrain to get to the cabin should be communicated especially during wintry weather. Limited area to walk pets ... so be aware. Reservation team didn’t honor a promo code offered on their site when they booked my reservation .... Very disappointing.... and when you try to contact them it’s endless emails back and forth asking you to call them and they never return your call. Also the physical addresses listed for their offices are incorrect.... They are all virtual now so no recourse available for any issues. Been renting cabins in the area for over 15 years and never had a property management company so horrible to work with.

The kitchen had greasy prints all over and the tops of the cabinets were filled were dust-covered and bug covered. there were remnants of toilet paper on the Bathroom floor. The dryer did not work on heat, only low heat. The outside plugs and bathroom plugs were not working, so we found GFI's that needed reset to take care of that ourselves. The LR rug is filthy and one corner rolls up, tripping those coming down the stairs. No cleaning is done to the porches and the cobwebs are heavy and windows are all gross. We have stayed at more that 25 cabins in our travels to this area and this was the worst. No offers of reimbursement were given, though I contacted them immediately. the area is quiet and we did get by.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros: Location: Great location! The views truly are special and made for some amazing sunrises over the mountains. Size: The 3 bedrooms were nice sized and there was space for our whole family to spread out and relax. Booking: The staff was a dream to work with. I cannot say enough good things about the office staff with Elk Springs. Cons: Water pressure: We lost pressure multiple times. Once while mid-way through my 5 minute shower it totally shut off, still covered in soap I had to wait 10 minutes until water would come out of the showerhead again. It effected showers, filling water bottles, washing clothes and dishes. It was a major issue for us. Customer service: The toaster was only half functional when we arrived. I contacted the staff and they let us know that they would drop off a new one within a few hours. What they failed to tell me was that they would enter the cabin even if we were not there. We had kept our rescue dog home that day who has a history of abuse. I’m not sure what happened while we were gone but she was completely shaken when we got back. Cleanliness: The primary surfaces that we would touch all appeared clean, however there was a layer of dust on all decorative details through the entire house. It just felt like it hadn’t had a deep cleaning in years. We also found multiple pieces of garbage from previous guests left in the theater room upon check in leading us to believe they didn’t clean that room at all. Hot tub: My son ended up with a bacterial skin infection from the hot tub’s lack of cleanliness. He needed to see a doctor and has been dealing with red itchy bumps covering his whole chest and back. Pets: There is no yard or flat surface near this cabin for walking your dog. Across the street is a wooded area that works but you must climb a muddy hill that is about 4-6 feet high. Overall, I would not rent this cabin again. I think the staff at Elk

Incredible Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was super clean and huge, and the views were as described in the name, breathtaking. We loved using the hot tub in the evening after long days of hiking and exploring and playing pool with our two young sons. We also,.loved that we could experience all this with our mini Australian shepherd puppy. We would highly recommend Elk Springs resort, Breathtaking Views and will be back soon.

Awesome Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I loved the cabin. It was clean, and very cozy. It has gorgeous views, a great fireplace, and a nice movie theater. We had a clog one day, and by texting the company we had a technician the following day to fix the issue. Very responsive and excellent customer service. I highly recommend this cabin.

The Southern Griswold Adventure

We had fun in Gatlinburg. Cowboy Way cabin was spacious and just as advertised. Close enough to the parkway but far enough to be quiet. The staff from Elk Springs were very responsive and helpful.
