Lovely country retreat

This little cottage is a gem. Situated on a hill and surrounded by olive trees with a great view of the sea. You need to have a car to stay here, but if you do, it provides easy access to Cefalù and Lascari. We also stayed in one night and cooked skewers on the wood grill.

Five Days of Relaxation

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Alvise’s country cottage! He was incredibly friendly and helpful as a host. The location has a beautiful view and lots of privacy, which was more than worth the price. We were able to get some much needed rest and visit the surrounding sites, such as Cefalù, with ease. We would definitely return given the chance.

Very nice stay

We had a great time at Campofelice di Roccella. The location was beautiful and secluded, which is just what we were looking for. A magnificent view and a very pleasant jacuzzi (the jacuzzi is bigger than it looks in the photos!) Our only regret… we would have liked to stay much longer in this cottage. We recommend the address without hesitation. And finally our host Alvis was very welcoming.

lovely authentic spot with a great view

House a little secluded, but with a fantastic view of the sea. Authentic Sicilian house with pool. Simple equipment, but completely enough to linger and explore the surrounding area. Half an hour to Cefalù, one hour to Palermo, car required. Hosts very accommodating and friendly, even got fresh fruit in between.

Amazingly

We stayed in this property for 9 days in September 2015 for our wedding anniversary. We do travel a lot and this house was one of our favourite. So quite and piecefull and the privacy, just what we needed! Most of the evenings were spent outside with lovely views and a pool. Definitely recommended and great value for money. Easy to commute to the beach. Little mountain gem, def will be back Justina

The property is absolutely superb tucked away Inbetween olive groves on a private estate. The property is secure and secluded and you can really relax. The views are out of this world. The property has been sympathetically restored & is functional. The aircon is much needed & very welcomed. We were welcomed by the owner who was kind and informative. He gave us lovely olive oil. We also had fresh towels and bed linen halfway through our holiday which was good. Access in and out was secure behind an electronic gate so you fekt very safe. The location is great not far from two good supermarkets, restaurants, the beach and refuse holds all within 8 minutes. You can use the local train station Campofelice (it’s about 5 mins away & you can park for free in large carpark) to travel to Cefalù one way or Palermo the other way. The trains are clean, timely and efficient. The property is in a good location to drive inland or to Agrigento (3 hrs) for example. Go to Sperlinga and visit the castle in the rock. It is stunning, quiet and a lovely drive through Sicily. The road networks are easy. Only negatives I’d say would be there are loads of wasps around the property which is usual in Sicily. We had a lovely 10 days stay. Thank you.

Privacy and tranquility

The owner met us at the local Esso station and lead us up to the property which is located in an Olive Farm approx 2km from the main road. A car is a must if you stay here. The house has views of the mountains and sea . The owner was very helpful is resolving any issues we had . A very peaceful holiday ... great location for privacy as no other properties nearby . The plunge pool ( not heated ) is just the ticket after a hot day sightseeing. We found that Mosquitos can be a problem when the sun goes down . Overall - we really enjoyed our holiday thank you to the owner Avise 😄

A wonderful little piece of Paradise

If you are looking for peace and quiet, great weather and privacy then look no further. Add in the incredible view of the mountains and coastline whilst sat on a hillside in a private and secure olive grove. Just perfect with fabulous sunsets. The local shops and beautiful beach are both within a 5 - 10 drive (car essential) and larger towns are approximately 30 minutes away following the coastline in either direction. The property has all the necessary essentials and the air conditioning is extremely efficient. It was very hot during our visit so it was much appreciated as was the large Jacuzzi. Alvise is very helpful and met us in the local town at the end of our drive from the airport to take us to the cottage. He is available for any questions and extremely kind and respectful of privacy. The journey from the airport is almost one straight road all the way to the cottage and back and takes about 75 minutes. The cottage provides a useful guidebook and maps and it seems Sicily offers plenty to see dependant on how adventurous the individual chooses to be. We chose to spend our time relaxing around the Jacuzzi, eating the wonderful fresh local produce, swimming in the warm sea and only venturing to two of the nearest larger towns for a wonder around. The trips to Mount Etna seem to run on Tuesdays so you would need to book if you don't want to make the drive. Just a couple of things to remember - Sicily is a follower of the Mediterranean siesta culture, there is very little open or happening between 1.30 and 5pm locally so bear this in mind for restaurant bookings and shopping, although we believe the larger towns and supermarkets seem to remain open, and would also recommend bringing bottled water for your arrival especially during the hotter months. We would thoroughly recommend Alvise's cottage to anyone and would very happily return if ever possible and would like to thank Alvise for his delightful and very thoughtful hospitality. Sicily is a truly beautiful place, so as a previous review mentioned - Don't hesitate - just book it!

Einfach paradisisch! Charmant gîte au cœur d’une oliveraie

Très agréable gîte au milieu d’une oliveraie. Le cadre, la vue sont magnifiques. Le jacuzzi/piscine est particulièrement agréable en cette saison. L’hôte est disponible et réactif quant au vieux chien de la propriété il est très attachant.

Schön, einfach und ruhig

Wir verbrachten hier drei Tage nach unserer ersten Ankunft auf Sizilien (mit der Fähre und dem Auto). Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig, schön, abgelegen und bestens geeignet für auszuruhen, Spaziergänge in den Olivenhainen und Ausflüge an die Küste, z.B. nach Cefalu oder Palermo. Der Vermieter ist der freundlich, zuverlässig und diskret. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Absolutely fabulous

Het huis is echt geweldig! Helemaal alleen in de olijfgaard, met af en toe Alvise en/of zijn familie die langsrijdt of de oude hond die even komt buurten, verder zie je er niemand, precies zoals wij het willen. Alvise is een geweldige gastheer, bescheiden en altijd bereid te helpen. De jacuzzi is groter dan het lijkt op de foto’s en is een heerlijke afkoeling. Zoals eerdere reviews al aangeven is een auto noodzakelijk, maar dan zit je ook zo in Campofelice of cefalu. Vergeet niet om een tripje door de Madonie te maken, fenomenaal! Al met al een hele dikke aanrader!!

Traumhaft!

Wir haben einen traumhaften Pfingsturlaub verbracht! Der Vermieter war jederzeit erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Insbesondere die abgeschiedene Lage haben wir genossen und den Pool und Sonnenuntergang am Haus ausgekostet. Das Haus hatte alles was wir brauchten und auch der Schotterweg dahin war kein Problem. Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen 2 Wochen!

Super Aufenthalt

Wir wurden durch den Vermieter schon vor unserer Ankunft am Objekt abgeholt. Gemeinsam sind wir dann zum Haus gefahren. Dies hätten wir auch ohne seine Hilfe schwer gefunden. Das Haus liegt wie beschrieben allein inmitten eines Olivenhains. Der Ausblick und vor allem die Ruhe haben wir sehr genossen. Im Haus ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Die Gegend bietet viele Möglichkeiten um Ausflüge unterschiedlichster Art zu unternehmen. Der Supermarkt und das Meer sind auch nur 5 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gern wieder.

Aufenthalt vom September 2022

Das Objekt ist an einer ruhigen, abgelegenen Lage mit schöner Aussicht auf den Olivenhain und im Hintergrund das Meer. Wir haben die Ruhe genossen, trotz dem etwas umständlichen Anfahrtsweg. Die Zufahrt ist am Schluss etwas holprig. Küche hat leider abgenutzte Pfannen, welche ersetzt werden müssten und gar keine Ausstattung zum kochen. Nur Geschirr ist vorhanden. Das Haus steht direkt unter einer Hochspannungsleitung.
