We, a (German) couple and two children (11 & 16 years) had a great time at Pauline's house "Las Dunas". The house is spacious, there are two lovely bedrooms, each with an own bathroom, and an extra toilet halfway upstairs from the living-room/kitchen and terrasse level. We surely appreciated the barbecue in the garden and used it for our New Years Eve dinner. But we enjoyed the view of the pool only though, it didn't seem to be heated and wasn't inviting to dive into the cold water.
Also, the place is well equipped and Pauline has been very friendly and helpful with information and advice. I had been to Medano before, so the planes starting from the nearby airport that cross the house in the air were no surprise - and it happens not as often and loudly as one might think. This disadvantage on one side is compensated by the village of El Médano on the other. There are very nice places to eat out and the whole place is by far not as "touristy" and commercial as Los Cristianos or Playa de los Americas.
There are only two reasons why I can't give the house five stars: 1. There was a permanent light smell of sewer coming up from the basement; 2. - A very individual and personal reason: I didn't like the neighbourhood too much - so many quickly built houses, looking all the same and many of them obviously not inhabited - a bit like a ghost town and quite far away from the village center; no possibilities to buy bread or anything else in the morning in walking distance, a pity.
But in the house there's enough space to store food - as the fridge in the kitchen is a bit small, there's a second, big one, in the basement. A big advantage is also the dishwasher and the washing machine. There's also a hairdryer and (almost) anything one might need...
We definitively enjoyed our stay.
