A little piece of heaven created by an amazing couple in such a beautiful tranquil spot.Spacious accommodation with the most fantastic garden with a heated pool. The weather wasn't the best but we managed to visit all the lovely towns and attractions in the area. Thank you Barry - would love to come back with the family.

Gite had everything you would need - comfortable and well resourced. Barry was very helpful and approachable.Lovely villages to visit in the locality and a nice walk into town along the disused railway.

We had a lovely relaxing week at this quiet rural gite. Barry was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay, always on hand if we needed anything. Having a pool to ourselves was a huge plus, as was the area for badminton. The gite itself has everything you need and local shops are nearby, including a small supermarket and several bakerys. The gite is well situated to explore the area, a highlight being Mont Saint Michel 45 mins away. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Great holiday flat with beautiful large rooms. A beautiful rustic fireplace adorns the living room. A special highlight is the pool and the beautiful garden. Barry is very courteous and attentive but not intrusive. We especially liked his two dogs. But don't worry. If someone doesn't like dogs, Barry keeps them well back. Many thanks for the lovely time.

Great pool & Garden and very friendly host.

Barry was a very welcoming host, and the pool and garden areas are great. The accommodation is very spacious and well equipped. The only downside was a smell of damp which lingered on clothing when out and about. This may just have been because of the very wet spring/summer weather this year.

Outstanding garden and pool area!

Beautiful and peaceful setting. Outstanding garden and pool area. Barry & Gail are very welcoming and friendly. Local town with amenities and restaurants within walking distance or 5 min drive. Spent a lovely day in Fougeres and also at Le Mont St Michel, both within an easy drive of the gite. Unfortunately, had to cut short our stay but hopefully will return in the future.

Wonderful!

We stayed for one week in this wonderful place. The house is very complete (kitchen utensils, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.). The private swimmingpool and lounge chairs including towels are a real treat. Barry was very helpful and extremely cautious in not interrupting our privacy. Many thanks for this lovely week!

Great place to stay for sightseeing and relaxing.

Loved the warm welcome and generous basket from Barry when we arrived. Great accommodation. Amazing pool and gardens. Barry always there to help with any issues and even brought us extra logs for the fire on a cold evening. Great bike path along old raikway track into town (we walked it). Great galette place in town for food. Market on Friday morning. Ideal for easy drive to Fougeres, Mont Saint Michelle, Cancale. Really relaxing, lovely stay. Would recommend.

Astounding, Amazing, Incredible Value

I would really like to say, please don't visit, because I don't want anyone to be there if I am able to go there. But that would be too mean because it is an extraordinary gite and Barry is a truly wonderful host. He told us that they run the gite to be like somewhere that they would love to stay themselves and it is every bit a place to love. The garden is magnificent and so pretty as you arrive at the gite. The swimming pool is clean and well tended. There are even two cookers in the kitchen. The showers are super luxurious. The area is lovely and there are so many places to visit and amenities close to hand. Don't Go. You will love it and I want it for myself.

Little piece of paradice

We had the most incredible week in Gary’s beautiful gite, we had everything we needed in there and had a beautiful little welcome hamper which was very thoughtful. The children absolutely loved the pool and was in it most days, and the badminton area was a great little place to get all the family to do some family sport together. The animals here were a great little surprise the children absolutely loved meeting Odis the donkey and thought the chickens were great little characters. Barry was so welcoming and very knowledgeable with places to visit and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you so much for having us, we had such a wonderful week.

Great place

We had a great 2 weeks holiday at this property. The accommodation was airy and spacious. The pool was lovely with no restrictions on when we could use it. The house is right on a flat cycle path on which you can cycle for miles, perfect for all ages and abilities. Louvigne-du-Desert has a couple of bars to visit and eateries. St Hilaire de Harcouet - had a great meal at A L'Ardoise. Fougeres is a great place to visit with a Castle, market, restaurants and bars, well worth a visit. Mont St Michel was about 45 mins drive away and a fabulous place. Barry and Gail are great hosts who are full of ideas of places to visit; always available but completely discrete. We all loved our trip. Thank you Barry and Gail!

Peace and quiet in beautiful Brittany

We absolutely loved our week in this wonderful gite in gorgeous, rural Brittany. Well equipped, cool and beautiful with a stunning garden and an awesome pool. There’s also Sky TV and a selection of DVDs if you want a quiet night in. Barry and Gail are fantastically welcoming hosts who want you to relax and have fun in their magnificent property. They also have a lovely menagerie of animals - including the unforgettable Nanette, the amazing rescued pet goat. You can interact with the dogs, cats, donkeys etc as much or as little as you want. Louvigné-De-Désert is a good base from which to explore Brittany and Normandie with Fougères, Dinan, St Malo, Avranches etc a leisurely drive away. Louvigné-De-Désert has a few bars and restaurants and a good Super U supermarket. The weather was wonderful. Warm and relaxing, perfect for a few hours around the pool or exploring some of Brittany’s many medieval villages. I look forward to my next visit to Brittany and would love to return to Barry and Gail’s gite

Virkelig hyggeligt og charmerende sted. Der er meget roligt og smukt. Barry er en fantastisk vært. Barry står altid til rådighed og er meget hjælpsom. Da vi ankom, havde han stillet friske æg, brød, vin og flere andre lækkerier til os. Igennem hele opholdet kom han med anbefalinger til, hvad vi kunne se i området og der er mange muligheder..

A beautiful home from home - the perfect accommodation for a great holiday

After several failed attempts (due to Covid restrictions) to get to this lovely gite we finally made it and it was definitely worth waiting for. The house is beautiful, really well equipped, very comfortable and in a great location. Then there is the exquisite garden and amazing outdoor swimming pool. The kids were in heaven and we all really enjoyed just relaxing by the pool. It was wonderful. And I can’t say enough about our fabulous hosts Barry and Gail. They made us feel so welcome (including a lovely box of goodies on arrival) and were on hand to help and even gave us tasty eggs from their hens and tomatoes from their garden. Definitely the best holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed in and I would highly highly recommend.

Toller Urlaub in ruhiger Lage

Wir haben 2 Wochen in dem gemütlichen Steinhaus verbracht. Trotz der hohen Temperaturen war es angenehm kühl im Haus. Es verfügt über 2 Bäder, die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet. Der Garten mit Pool ist ein absoluter Traum und eine Oase der Erholung. Der Pool war zur Freude unseres Sohnes zu unserer alleinigen Verfügung. Es gibt zahlreiche Sitz-und Liegegelegenheiten zur Entspannung. Barry und Gail sind hervorragende Gastgeber, die uns bei Bedarf mit Rat und Tat zur Seite standen. Ihre Leidenschaft für dieses Anwesen hat uns angesteckt, so dass wir einen tollen Aufenthalt geniessen konnten und wir gerne wiederkommen würden.

A gentle and beautiful part of France

We had such a peaceful and relaxing two weeks in this beautiful and serene corner of Bretagne. The property is right next to a Voie Verte making it very easy to get out on our bikes every day before returning to the stunning gardens and pool to read and chill. Our girls were enchanted by the animals, not least Weetabix the dog and the four gorgeous kittens. The animals, like Barry and Gail, potter about in a very gentle and unobtrusive way. All very therapeutic! We had great meals in St Hilaire du Harcouet, Ducey and Dinard. Another lovely cycle path from Ducey to Mont St Michel highly recommended. Also the castle in Fougeres well worth a visit. Thank you so much Barry and Gail for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had a fantastic week at Barry’s gite. The accommodation is very well appointed with several TVs with English channels and DVD player. Kitchen very well equipped also. The weather was fantastic and we took full advantage of the gas BBQ. The highlight of the accommodation is the heated pool which we used every day. The kids had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting the cats plus Weetabix the dog. Well equipped supermarket in Louvigne, we also had a day out the the chateau at Fougeres which is well worth a visit.

Geschmackvolle Unterkunft mit traumhaftem Garten

Die Wohnung (Untergeschoss des Hauses) ist großzügig und gut ausgestattet. Tolle Küche, bequeme Sitzmöglichkeiten. Die Vermieter sind überaus freundlich, so wurden uns neben dem Begrüßungspaket Feuerholz für die kalten Tage zur Verfügung gestellt und zusätzliche Eier und eine köstliche selbstgemachte Kirschmarmelade geschenkt. Der wunderschön und liebevoll angelegte Garten sowie der Pool standen uns zur Alleinbenutzung zur Verfügung. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind per Auto in 5 Minuten zu erreichen (Bäcker, Supermarkt, Metzger, Wochenmarkt diverse Restaurants). Die nächsten größeren Städte (Fougeres und St. Hilaire) sind in ca. 20 Autominuten erreichbar.

Parfait havre de paix

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine ! Le temps a été avec nous, soleil et chaleur au RDV. Les propriétaires sont absolument adorables et serviables et ont tout fait pour que nous nous sentions chez nous. La piscine, très grande, était chauffée à 29°C (malgré le mauvais temps avant notre arrivée) et est montée à 30°C rapidement. Le jardin est un véritable "paradis sur Terre", pour les petits comme pour les grands. La maison est grande et bien aménagée. La cuisine ravira tous les passionnés de cuisine (tous les équipements sont disponibles dont une plaque de cuisson au gaz et une plaque à induction). Bref, séjour parfait.

Lovely getaway

We had a very nice time in the house and garden. The owners were more than helpful and liked to advise about restaurants and towns to visit when we asked about that. The appartment is pretty big and it has a well equipped kitchen. The gardens and pool are very spacious and very well maintained which in our book is a very nice feature to have on your holidays. For us, one of the most conveniant assets of our booking was the fact that Barry and Gail are both English speaking. Recommendations for the neighbourhood are: Vitre, Rennes, Fougeres, Parc Botanique de Haute Bretagne, Château Le Rocher-Portail, restaurant a l'ardoise and l'heure de la galette.

Magical place in Brittany (Bretagne)

We had the best time in this beautiful vacation house. Barry and Gail are wonderful hosts with a lot of respect for your privacy but always there for some help, good trip advices, interesting stories to tell (but only if you ask for it). There was so much to discover in the various garden areas as well as in the house. We were also charmed by the pets around the house (kittens, cats, we also met the dogs and Otis, the donkey) and we occasionally met a few of the magnificent horses. Just around the corner there is an old trail road track to walk and cycle to the village. There are also lots of possibilities for the more adventurous bikers/runners/walkers. It’s a good base to visit the Mont Saint-Michel we discovered other beautiful places as well: Fougères, Dinan, Saint-Malo (the best pastries at Pâtisserie Récit de Voyage), Vitré (with very good supper at Le Candiot), Rennes (good to go shopping). All thanks to the suggestions from Barry. Thank you Barry and Gail for your warmth & hospitality. It was a pleasure meeting both of you.
